we found out yrsterday that DH is going to need a disc removed in his neck this should be within the next five months so worst case would be travelling four weeks later, has anyone done this ? any ideas on potential problems as i dont really know how limited he will be post surgery Thanks Gill

One huge consideration is if you can get travel insurance at a reasonable cost to travel so soon after major surgery. If you can get travel insurance then best bet is to ask the consultant what shouldn't be done in addition to the obvious roller coasters etc.

Hope all goes well with the surgery.

Claire ;)

I can only endorse the above advice, make sure

a) He is classed fit to travel
b) You have declared this to the insurance company as an existing condition and have cover.

I think the best person to advise you would be the surgeon who will perform the procedure. Ask him/her.

thanks everyone, we have managed to get reasonable insurance quote but fingers crossed he will be declared fit to travel. Gill
