I think it'll depend on just how bad it gets. Speaking for myself, I cannot wait until it is clear to travel again. I'm planning on going up to our up north property as soon as the weather warms up so that we can at least enjoy the woods while we isolate, which is permitted under our state's stay-at-home order, and as soon as we can resume normal vacations I will (assuming we can still afford it). But I think there are likely to be a lot of people who are going to struggle to get back to work and who will have big holes to dig out of when they do, so I think that's likely to be a drag on travel and tourism spending for quite some time.
I also think this, far more than 2008, could push people into more of a "saving" posture which will also limit travel spending in the long term, especially in the lower income brackets where building up a reserve is slow if not impossible for many. Even 60 years after the Depression, my grandparents didn't feel right about spending money on vacations; I suspect some people who survive this may come out of it feeling the same way.
