If you order online and then collect at the airport it is commission free, and they have one of the best exchange rates around at the moment. Check out their website.

But i need to purchase my money at the airport, im flying friday, but my pay does'nt go into the bank until friday.

Should i not bother and get the money from the bank in florida.

When we went in January the rate over the internet was about $1.788 commission free with Travelex. At the Airport ( as my DH wanted to use cash) it was $1.765 however with commission the rate went to $1.745.

Don't take English money to USA...they don't "do" Sterling so good and you could have problems. The rate at the English airport is not too bad.

If you pre-order to collect at the airport, will the payment be taken out of your account when you order or when you collect?

I thought it was when you collect (you may be able to check that on Travelex's website), but what time will you be at the airport on Friday? Will your pay have been processed by then? If that's not definite, then your best option will be to wait until you get to Florida to access your account.

Hello, I work at Heathrow for ICE foreign exchange. Travelex will charge you 1.5% commission minimum £3. They will also try to sell you tneir buyback guarantee, this might be a good deal if you think you may bring alot of dollars back. All the bureaux de change at the airport are restricted by BAA to this commission structure. Its quite a good deal as you would pay more in a high street travel agents.
