travel vouchers?

we recieved 50$ per person airline discount for the terrible service we recieved this past vacation. Not sure we will even use this airline ever again but if we do does anyone know if we can use these discounts thru expedia or travel agent or only with the airlines directly. We usually use expedia and get a good rate, probally 50$ less than the airlines offer

Boy do I know about travel vouchers, sorry to say.

We had a HORRIBLE experience with America West last July, when Dh and I took my parents to Vegas. We ended up sitting at the airport for almost 8 hours. Subsequently we missed our show and dinner ressies, and ended up checking into our room at 1 a.m. At any rate, we did get four $100 vouchers. We booked another trip to Vegas in January and used these vouchers and were able to go thru our travel agent without any problem. She just had to have them on hand when she made the ressies. But then once again, we sat in the airport for 8 hours, except this time customer service at America West could care less. So needless to say, we will never use them again, and I can hardly recommend them.

You had mentioned that online sites get you better prices than a travel agent. What I have always done in the past is use Expedia and Travelocity to get their best rates for the times and dates I want to travel. If for instance, Delta has the best rate, then I go directly to Delta's site, and their online site usually beats it. If you have to use a travel agent, then I just give her the flight numbers, times and dates, and she books it for the rate I have found, if she can't find it for less.

You will not be able to use it via an online travel agent. Does it not say on the voucher if it can be used through a travel agent? This information is usually listed on the voucher.

what carrier is it for? most do not allow for use of expedia or travelocity etc. but on usair you can use their websight to book the reservation then within 24 hrs you must go to the airport tkt cntr or to a city tkt office and you may at that time exchange it in for your tkt. Now before I went to the city tkt office to exchange my vouchers about 10 days ago I did have my reservation noted as such that it was ok to exchange vouchers for online reservation....I just called the 800nbr associated with the websight and she noted the record and I had no problems. you canuse the vouchers thru your local TA but they must be the ones to make the ressie for you on their computer......so that they can issue you the tkt......not always the best price either ...this is why I made mine on-line........
