When i get there...... I do not think i will be confident enough to drive to Downtown Disney so a few questions.....

1)how much would a taxi cost from Lindfields to DTD and how to book one?
2)how to get a taxi back.....?
3)do they have lockers as intend doing a day shopping before going to cirque.
4)recommended eating places?
5)how far is the cirque tent from the shops?

Any other information gratefully received. thanks

Ali, Downtown Disney is very easy to drive to, so you may find you want to give it a try. We find it easiest to go in via the Lake Buena Vista entrance which is very close to the I-4 (just come off the I-4, turn left towards LBV and there is only one traffic light to negotiate into WDW property. You then simply follow the road round and turn into whatever entrance to DTD you want (the car park is huge, so there are several). If you go in the morning, it is very quiet and not much traffic to negotiate. If you decide on a taxi, there always appear to be plenty in the DTD taxi rank.

Westside and DTD goes round the lake in a half moon shape (with Pleasure Island in the middle). Its about a 20 minute walk end to end, or there is a ferry boat linking both sides. Cirque is in the Westside near Virgin megastore, the World Of Disney Store in the East.

You will be spoilt for choice for places to eat. House Of Blues, Planet Hollywood, Rainforest Cafe, fultons, Earl Of Sandwich, even a Macdonalds!! Depends if you want a full sit down meal or a snack!

I cant remember about lockers...though there is a big Guest services area, so there may well be. Im sure someone will know for sure.

Not sure if they have lockers either , sorry.

A good place to eat is Wolfgang Puck. Nice restaurant upstairs and good little self service downstairs (nice pizza).

The Cirque building is close by (it is a building not a tent although is supposed to look like one)

I would also say its easy to drive to and the car park is huge.

Hi Ali. Here's a link to map of Downtown Disney. Not particularly helpful, as it doesn't have a key. But it does show you where the Cirque "tent" is!

Just had a look at an old map from '99, and there's no mention of lockers on there, I'm afraid. But, it does show that there are taxi Stands on the edge of the car park, behind Planet Hollywood and also the World of Disney store, in the Marketplace. I don't see why they should have move them since, but it would seem it's fairly easy to catch a cab from DD.

Thanks for information everyone, SORRY didnt realise that it wasnt actually a TENT, now i feel a complete dork......i honestly thought it was a tent.....

Don't feel silly - they've done it like that because they want you to believe it really IS a tent.:D
