We will be staying at the Hilton Anaheim in a couple of weeks. My husband will be driving from there to El Segundo and Seal Beach and Huntington Beach from there on different days. Was wondering if anyone knew how long it will take to drive to these places in the morning and back late afternoons and if there is a suggested route. We are staying at Hilton so I will be able to visit the parks while he works.

Also wondering if taking the ART would be best or walking to Toy Story lot would be best. Not sure how many stops the ART makes from Hilton to DL.

Thanks

He should use Waze to determine the best route in the mornings and afternoon. It will tell him the fastest route at that time.

To get to the parks just walk across the street to the Toy Story lot and take the shuttle. Super easy.

Thanks....I know ART picks up in front of hotel so didn't know if it was super easy and better.

I haven't taken ART from there, but the walk to Toy Story is literally across the street. Plus, I'm cheap so I'd rather walk a bit than pay to take ART. It's probably faster too.

I've worked in El Segundo, and it's about an hour drive (El Segundo is right next to LAX Airport), however, traffic will affect travel time greatly. I recommend using Waze. I use it, even though I know the route to gauge what time I'll get there, or home, from any given point. Huntington & Seal Beach are 1/2 hour and 45 minutes respectively, again, depending on traffic.

When going to El Segundo, he should use 5N -> 91W -> 605N -> 105W -- that will take him to El Segundo.
When going to Huntington Beach/Seal Beach, he should go 5S -> the routes that will take him there - usually involves the 22W / 55W / 405N, depending on destination.

Can you recommend a time to go in the morning or afternoon that would be better? Like...if you go at 7 am or before it isn't too bad or whatever? He will use waze but not sure how early to start.

Thanks!

It depends on the time he wants to get to his destination. I typically leave at 6am, but if he doesn't have to get there until 10am, then that would be to early. Busiest times start at 6am-9am, and then 2pm'ish-7:30 or so. However, there is ALWAYS traffic in LA, even on Saturdays. Whatever time he plans on leaving tack on another 1/2 hour.

OK, first off, the Toy Story Buses are actually "ART Route 20", and to catch them, you need to walk quite a bit (4/10th of a mile) to get to the middle of the lot and the pick up area.

So I would either walk directly to the park or opt for the ART Route 4/5 that picks up at the Valet area of the Hilton.

Do you know how many stops the route 4/5 makes after picking up at the Hilton?

Two Stops, one at the Sheraton Park, and one for the Hilton/Marriott, so you could say 3 stops. Runs every 20 minutes, and uses large buses most of the time, or adds additional buses if needed due to the demand.

First bus today was at 6:14 AM, so runs before park opening and Magic Mornings, and runs until at least 15 minutes after park closing.

Thanks again. You seem to know quite a bit about the ART. I have looked at the website and when I click on the route schedules it says for the Grand Plaza Line 4/5, the first bus today was at 6:14 am and the last bus at 11:30pm. But when I click on the find a bus route and choose the Hilton going to Disneyland, it says the first bus was at 8:14 am and last bus at 1:30 am.

This is confusing me.

For traffic on a daily basis...Good to use SigAlert..

If the freeways are jammed...These go pretty far West...

Westminster Ave
Katella Ave
Lampson Ave
Chapman Ave
Garden Grove Blvd
ORangewood Ave

El Segundo - Best to beat traffic..leave 5am-ish

Seal or Huntington Beach - Multiple ways to get there from Disneyland. If freeways jammed, use side streets.

For HB, can also take Harbor Blvd or Euclid South pretty far. Then Edinger or Warner West.

I say pay the money and use ART. The toy story lot is not a small walk away. It isn't terribly far but it isn't like just crossing the street like people make it seem. Also, on busy days where the toy story lot is getting a lot of people, you can find yourself waiting for 2 to 3 busses before you get on one. I say take ART or walk to the park

Thanks...it isn't about the money....I just don't want to have it take forever...like stop a bunch of times or be so crowded that you can't get on it. The ART website is a bit confusing. I looked at the routes and the times listed there do not agree with the times if you choose the Hilton going to DL. Not sure what that is about of maybe I am looking at it wrong.

The website looks confusing to me as well. I don't mind the walk in the morning but I'm worried about the walk back after the park closes. I go IN when I do Disney lol and I will walk until my feet are killing me and my back hurts. So for me a 15-20 minutes walk in that condition is hard for me. I looked on the ART website to see route 1 and 2 and it said the last bus is at 10:30pm? Having a hard time looking at the schedules from the Hilton Anaheim. Does anyone know if the buses run from park closing time to a little bit after?

thanks!
