Hi.

Can anyone tell me how the bus service from the Beach Club resort is to the Magic Kingdom? I'm thinking of switching to the BC for $$$ reasons and to try something new.

Thanks!

Its around a 10-15 minute bus ride. Not very far. You could also catch the monorail at the entrance of Epcot over to MK if you wanted to.

We stayed there last year for a week and loved it!! The buses were great and we didn't have to wait long any time we wanted to go to a park. It would be like PP said on the time of the ride.

The actual bus ride isn't the issue, its how long you have to wait for the bus. You'll find all range of stories about how some people didn't have to wait much at all up to people who waited more than 30 minutes for a bus. YMMV.

Yes, you're right. But that is true at all the WDW resorts. Even at the monorail resorts, I still remember waiting quite some time for buses to AK and MGM (now HS). My DH and I are just so used to being right near the MK, but sometimes you end up waiting for a monorail, too, so I think it's going to be fine.

I'm actually more excited now because we're trying something new - which, after 10+ trips alternating between WL, Polynesian and GF - it's TIME to go elsewhere.

scanne...We are in the same boat. We've always stayed at Poly or WL,and this Oct. will be trying BC! When is your trip? I'll be anxious to hear how you liked it!

While we often travel to the MK from the Epcot resorts (or vice versa) via Epcot and the monorial, be aware that this will take some time. 20 - 25 minutes to walk from BC to front of Epcot and monorial station, waiting for the monorial (which could be 2 or 20 minutes), 10 minutes to the TTC, another wait for a monorial and then a few minutes to the MK gates. All in all, at least 45 and as many as 75 minutes to do this. I like doing this, but I would not recommend it if you are in a hurry.

scanne, the actual ride to MK is quite short. I think I times the return trip at 7 min to YC (which is the first drop on return) so it could be even faster from BC to MK as there's not the extra little leg of the trip in front of the Polynesian.

Have fun and happy planning!

Noodles,

We are going from August 20-26th. I am really beginning to get excited about staying at the BC! I've been reading a lot of posts and reviews, checking out photos of the resort (OMG - it is BEAUTIFUL!) and overall feeling a sense of excitement because it is something NEW (for us). I think that is the spark that I have missed from our last few trips. I knew what to expect resort wise, but this time, I have no idea, so it is definitely adding an element of fun to my planning! I hope to take advantage of many of the activities offered like the movie on the beach, SAB and strolling the Boardwalk at night with the kids and hubby. I will let you know how my "Magic Kingdom Resort Family" fares at the BC. I have a hunch that we're really going to like it, if not fall in love!

Cannot wait!!!

My only stay at the Beach Club was in October 2006, and we had horrible bus service. My only explanation would be that maybe Disney was training some new drivers at the time. I admit to being a bit of a geek, and I like to time our bus rides. It was 40 minutes from when we boarded the bus to getting to the Magic Kingdom. The bus ride to the Animal Kingdom was 45 minutes. My then 11yr old niece commented on the way to MK that she thought the bus driver was lost, it was taking so long. That is why I'm thinking that maybe they were using new drivers.

Anyway, the busses were so bad that when we were deciding where to stay this fall, my nephew said not the Beach Club. I know are experience was not the norm, but it did kind of turn the whole family off of staying there again.

We will be at the BC from August 19th to the 26th-perhaps we will see you at Beaches and Cream-it's not to be missed! We've been there (BC) several times (after staying at the Wilderness Lodge and Grand Floridian) and now we wouldn't stay anywhere else. Think you will be very happy there. If you can, try to request a room near the lobby-just not on the first floor. Being close to the BC Marketplace is very convenient-and you'll have a short walk to the Boardwalk and Epcot. While you are there, engage "Art" in a conversation-he's wonderful for the ambience!

Hope you have a fantastic time!:wave2:

Oh-they also do yoga on the beach at 7am, in case you're interested!

LongIslandGirl,

Hi! We booked a standard room, and since I know nothing about where rooms are located (as far as categories) I didn't make any requests. What do you think the best standard room locations are?

And yoga on the beach? How cool! I may have to check that out the mornings I head out early for a walk (which I hope will be most of my mornings, there!)

Any other advice is more than welcome. I am really looking forward to going!

We are looking at the BCV for a trip, and I wondered about transportation to GF or Contemporary for character breakfast purposes... what is the best way to get over there? Is there a bus to the TTC so we could catch the monorail? Or better to walk through epcot to the monorail? Thanks.

There is no bus from any resort to the TTC these days. The easiest thing to do is take a bus to the MK and then walk or monorail to the CR and monorail or take the little launch to the GF (launch doesn't operate until about 8:30am).

If you're going to an early am breakfast, you might mention to the driver where you are headed. Apparently on occasion they've dropped guests off at the resorts after the MK stop if they have time.

You would not be able to enter Epcot until 9am and then it is quite a hike to get all the way to the front. Admission is required as well.

Some people prefer to catch a taxi.
