Travel time from Victoria Station to Gatwick

I´m wondering how long the Gatwick Express to Gatwick takes.
Our flight leaves at 10.55 and we are staying at a small Hotel close to Victoria Station.How early should we leave the hotel in the morning.
Any info or advice would be appreciated.

32 minutes on Southern trains, 30 minutes on gatwick express.

Check in time is typically 3-hours before flight for transatlantic, so you need to check in at 7:55am. Allow yourself some contingency time and time to get to the check-in desk and you should be aiming to arrive by 7:30am at Gatwick. Gatwick Express trains are at 6:45, 7:00, 7:15, 7:30 etc. local trains (which are cheaper, stop at several stations but are only a few minutes longer) run between these times. I would aim for the 6:45 to give yourself some leeway.
