Travel time between parks

Like @saturn5 , I would suggest allowing for 90 minutes between parks unless you take a Minnie Van to speed things up (or are driving yourself).

Also, you can't have FP pre-booked into different parks on the same day. You can pre-book up to three experiences in a single park on any given day. For all parks except MK, you can book only one Tier-1 attraction and can not book additional Tier-1 attractions until all three reservations have been used.

FastPass (FP) can be pre-booked for a different park on the day the guest is going to use the FP. https://www.disboards.com/threads/f...ing-anytime-fps-cl-fps.3538258/#post-56320829 The OP can use FP's in the MK then look for a FP for another park while still in the MK.

The very first post in the thread you linked says what I was getting at, if not exactly what I stated. You can NOT book FP for multiple parks on the same day -in advance-. You can book for a second park THAT DAY.

Yes, maybe not exactly what you said. Glad I was able to help clarify it. Though I get that most people consider "pre-booking" to be the booking of FP's well before visiting Walt Disney World, booking for a 2nd park while in the first park is a method of "pre-booking".

I realize this. It is why I don’t know what our plans will be exactly. We are going to book for one park in the morning and try and get a fourth FP in the park we are hopping to.

My understanding with obtaining FP's is that you can book up to three for your initial "allotment". If you're visiting any park besides MK, only one of those can be a Tier-1 attraction. You will ONLY be allowed to reserve a second Tier-1 on a given day after you've used your initial allotment of three. I do not know if you can keep adding one to the list, so long as they are not Tier-1, as you use them.

For example: You could book Flight of Passage at Animal Kingdom along with Expedition Everest and Kilimanjaro Safaris. You would not be able to book a Tier-1 ride at Epcot (Soarin', Test Track, or Frozen Ever After) until you've used all three of the ones reserved at AK. Also, you can't book ANY FP at a second park prior to day of. So, even if you only book two Tier-2 attractions at AK, you couldn't book anything at Hollywood Studios until the morning of the day you will be visiting HS.

With advance reservations at 60 days going to those guests staying "on property", it makes the Tier-1 attractions very difficult to get in any park. You're likely better off to reserve your Tier-2 attractions and rope drop the park where you want to go on a Tier-1 attraction and head there right away. Set your other FP's for at least two hours after park open so you have enough time to wait in line for the Tier-1 attraction, experience it, then get to your first FP.

To the bolded- If you book only 2 FPs (or fewer) at your first park, you can then book additional FPs including a tier one at the second park.

Example: I go to AK in the morning and have FP for FoP (tier one) and KS (tier 2) and NO other FP. Once I tap in at FoP (assuming it is my first FP of the day), I can then obtain FP for HS and that FP can be a tier one FP.

Use the FP earlier in the window. Leave. Plenty of time for MK bus with zero concerns about a walkway. Only way I would suggest a Contemporary bus is if it were there and boardable.

Thank you- that is what I was thinking too.

That is directly contrary to what I was told by Disney directly about five months ago.

Honestly, I don't know hot much it even matters. There's very little opportunity to grab a Tier-1 FP "day of" from what I've seen. Certain attractions at certain times of year probably have some better chances, but in general... zero FP's available "day of" for anything worth getting one for, and certainly nothing available for Tier-1 when I was there in January.

There is a very long list of things many posters here have been told by a CM that turn out to be false. I have asked a CM a question and then five minutes later been given a different answer by a different CM.
Within the last five months since you were told this, it has worked. Perhaps others who have visited more recently can confirm but the fact that the sticky thread I linked has not had that information changed or removed also tells me it works (sticky threads about FP strategy are generally very quickly updated when something changes).

There have been plenty of people who are able to get Tier 1 FP on the same day, including myself. There are entire threads about strategies for doing so.
