Hi,

I have to travel to Grenoble (for business) and I am wondering how easy (or difficult) it will be for me to make a side trip to DisneyLand Paris.
I hate to go all the way to France, and not see much of anything beyond the conference room.
My co-workers think it is a waste to go to DLP at all (since we have Disney parks with more attractions) much closer. So I might have to make this trip by myself.
And I might end up agreeing with my co-workers that our time is better spent seeing something else.
We end our meetings in time to get to Paris the Thursday before the 4th of July, and not return home until the 4th, using minimal vacation days.

I might do any of the following:
fly round trip Portland to Paris, and take a train to Grenoble and then back to Paris.
fly Portland -> Grenoble -> Paris -> Portland (this looks the most expensive, and I will have to pay for a chunk of this).
fly Portland to Grenoble, and then take a train between Grenoble and Paris DisneyLand.

Is the Paris Train station the closest to DisneyLand?
Will the train get me much closer to DisneyLand than a plane will?

Is there even an airport in Grenoble? I can't seem to find one. Is the closest airport to Grenoble an expensive (and/or long) cab ride?
Is it easier to get to a train station than an airport from Grenoble?

Are things well labeled (are the labels only in French)?

Thank you
- Eileen

I can not hep with your question on travel however there is a train station at DLP, so if you got the train to Paris it would be easy to get to DLP.

Though your American parks have more attractions that is no reason to write of DLP, DLP rides are often considered better than their wdw counterparts such as BTM and POTC and the park is very beautiful in terns of details, don't forget that many of the Disney films were inspired by fairy tales that originate in Europe.

I don't speak french I find it no problem, my sister is fleunt in french however never uses it.

Hi Eileen :wave2: I can't help with the travel side of things either but like wideeyes said, it is very easy to get the train to/from DLP/Paris. Have a look here for train details.

I also agree that it would be a shame not to visit DLP for at least one day when you are so close to it. :goodvibes

Hi Eileen. You are about 400 miles south of Disneyland Paris so it will a reasonable train journey.
Having a look at www.sncf.com some journeys are direct or change at Lyon and onwards to Marne La Valee probably 3 hours journey time.

As others have said DLP has much to offer :goodvibes

Don't let your co-workers discourage you from going to DLP. Some people like to shop, some go to museums, and others like to sit in a pub and drink all day. Different strokes for different folks.

DLP is a short and easy train ride from Paris. Take the RER A to the Marne-la Vallee station. It takes approx. 50 minutes. The park entrance is right there. You don't even have to cross a street.

We visit Disneyland California quite often (we live 30 minutes away). But we also enjoy visiting DLP, largely to experience the differences. Some rides might have the same name (Indiana Jones, Big Thunder), but are very different. Dine at Auberge de Cendrillon and have a glass of French wine with your meal. It's a completely different experience.

Reid: I read your tag "Anyone for haggis."

I had haggis when we visited Edinburgh. It was interesting. One day, we hope to attend the Edinburgh Festival.

Cheers!
