Whoo Hoo... Morning all... The wife and I have been ping ponging the decision back and forth for about a month now and have decided that today is the day we're going to buy into the AKV. Happy day for us...

My question is... I called yesterday asking a bunch of question and one of them was about air line tickets. They told me I could call DVC member services and book air tickets thru them.

My question to you all is that do you get a better deal vs. doing all of the home work yourself.

I'm a AAVantage member and always have used my miles to pay for tickets or pay for my resorts via a AA Vacations package...

I don't think the airfares are ever that good when you look at the quotes when booking a trip through Disney. So i don't think you will get a better deal from DVC on airfare either.

Also, congrats on your purchase today!

It does not seem they give you a better deal--However it is worth asking-- It seems to me that they just book the tickets at the price they are that day and plane tickets do fluctuate....

cool.. thanks for the info everyone... Guess it will just require a bit of leg work to get a good ticket.

I will miss getting 180 dollar RT tickets thru AA Vacations when you book a WDW package... but I'll soon be a DVC Member.. good trade off in my book...

Try Travelocity - they have a feature where you can set alerts to be sent to you when the airfare goes below a price - I of course have Orlando set on mine! I have also gotten good fares through Orbitz! Congrats! on your purchase and happy Airfare Hunting! :surfweb:

I've used all of them in the past... but it used to be cheaper to go thru AAVacations...

since our december trip is taken care of.. just need to be on the look out for next may... :))))))

Your best bet is to go to a site like kayak.com and look up the available flights and times for when you want to go. Then go to the carrier's web site or call them and book it directly with them. That is how you will save the most money. IMHO you will pay much more going through them. Using them would be for more of a convienence thing as opposed to trying to save money which won't happen booking that stuff through them. ;)

Try Southwest Airlines out of Midway. I travel out of Philadelphia on Southwest and have received RT tickets for great prices. I have, on more than one occasion, received RT tickets for less than $100.

I love up near the Wisconsin boarder, so Midway is a bit of a streatch for me... And, being 6'4", southwest isn't always the most comfortable.. but we have gone out of Midway before...

Mikwaukee is a nice airport and has been my best option before, but Orlando isn't an easy connection directly from Milwaukee....
