Definitely sign me up as the compulsive planner - I just booked my October trip the 7th - 11th of October during our fall break. In doing a bit of online research I realized that the "happy" days are around this time, and I was able to book GCH for $209 a night - I looked it up on the Disney website and the rooms are going for $384 a night. DLH is also available for $169 a night...thought these were too good of deals to not share. I am sure DL will run the 4th night free promo - but this still comes out cheaper for travel from 10/2-10/19.:cool1:

What are "happy day" and how did you get those rates at GCH. We're planning a trip in the 2nd week of Oct as well and would love to get these rates.

I believe the OP is referring to Gay Days 2....a weekend long event at DLR. The Gay Days 2 web site usually gives all the details of their events including which park on what days and different events they will be doing around the area.

Oh, I am very interested in this! Think reservations (and front desk) will raise eyebrows at a woman, a man, 2 boys and a baby, in other words, a traditional family unit, reserving under this code?

I learned about this on the boards last year - so I definitely checked this year. I registered our traditional family unit - asked for the rates - and she pulled them up - no questions asked - during the reservation process. I can't imagine them caring - or asking for proof:eek:

It would seem that this discount code is not meant for the general public and while I would love for everyone to get a great deal on their DL vacation, I just think that posting this information on this board makes it more difficult for those of us who are a part of this group to get a reservation from the block of rooms that has been set aside. Just my opinion, but wouldn't the gay & lesbian board be a more appropriate place to share this information?

Thanks for sharing this with us. Everyone loves a good deal. Since we are obviously out of school then too we might have to join you there! What great rates.

You still need to get an AP!!!!!!! It's totally worth it!

FYI, I called Disney and they said the applicable days on the Gay Days website are incorrect. Their contract runs to October 12, not the 19th. :confused3 I could have moved it so our trip STARTED that early but it requires a 10/12 departure.

Bummer. I asked if there were any other discounts for October and the CM told me, "No but (I) should call back in mid-September." Oh sure, I can wait until then to plan a 10 day trip! :scared:
