A question to the seasoned travellers.

Looking at travel insurance for me and my 2DS, always used the Post Office as DS were both covered under my personal cover. This year my eldest DS is 18 and not in full time education so cannot be covered on my personal policy. None of the other options apply to us. Does anyone have any suggestions of good policy providers? (always found PO prices reasonable and the cover adequate)

I've been using Direct Travel for the last few years. Never had to make a claim so I can't comment on that, but their prices are not too bad and you can add on/remove to save on various benefits. I have been using them since the ash cloud in 2010(?) because they were amongst the few who honoured claims due to the ash cloud. There is an optional natural disaster add on which is a flat rate of £20, although I have not checked if that price is the same since I took out my last policy. They also have really good cash back on Topcashback and Quidco (usually 15-20%)

I have just taken out an individual policy for DD as she is travelling with us this year but isn't included on our family insurance as she will be 20.

We used Protect Your Bubble and the premium was £25.47 for a 17 day holiday to Floria, inlcuding up to £2000 cancellation cover, £10 million medical and £2 million personal liability (which is plenty for her). Insured through Quidco Compare and got £2ish cashback.

We've used Columbus Direct for the past couple of trips - their silver package I think (I wouldn't travel without £10m in medical cover).Works out at around £45/couple.

Have you checked your bank account benefits? I pay for banking specifically because the phone and travel insurance included in it would cost me considerably more than the small monthly banking charge.

Thanks all. :grouphug:
Lot's of options to look into :surfweb:and you have all made me realise I've been paying through the nose on EVERY previous trip!
