I would like to get some travel insurance for our forthcoming trip. I have looked around and the cover/cost varies greatly. Can anyone recommend who I should go with? Total cost of the holiday was £6150 (approx) to include tickets, flights and accommodation. There are 2 adults and 3 children (12, 8 and 5) with no pre-existing medical conditions - how much should we expect to pay? We won't be doing any winter sports and have very little in the way of valuables.;)

So far The Post Office and Columbus are coming in at around £140 for a single trip. I noticed that Columbus lets you add volcanic ash cover too.

I hadn't realised but DH has a Barclays Additions account - it has travel insurance but the cancellation is only £3000.:confused3

It will be £3,000 for each adult & child who is covered on the policy.

"Additions Active Travel Insurance protects each account holder
and his/her domestic partner on trips anywhere in the world.
Unmarried, dependent children under 18 years of age (23 years of
age if still in full time education and living at home outside of term
time) are covered providing they are travelling with the account
holder or his/her domestic partner, or whilst travelling abroad on
their own to visit and stay with close relatives for the duration of
the trip."

That seems OK then. Will get a policy document from Barclays and read it through to make sure.:thumbsup2
