Doing on a 7 night concierge cruise on the Disney Fantasy this summer for four. I don't usually buy trip insurance but I feel I have to with the cost of this trip..

I've checked out insuremytrip and also USAA- (we're members). USAA has good prices and we use them for insurance, car loans, banking etc.

We've got no preexisting conditions etc. This is more for someone getting sick the last minute. Losing that kind of money would kill me.

I can't offer any specific experience with USAA travel insurance as I've never had to make a claim, but its the only travel insurance we've ever purchased for our cruises. The price is right, coverage is right...and with my own experience with USAA overall (ALL of my insurance is with them...home, vehicle, umbrella, life) I have only good things to say.

I always get travel insurance through USAA for my Disney trips(ABD, DCL, etc). It's rather inexpensive and I know they are a quality company. I haven't had to file a claim yet, but feel good knowing that if I did they would do right by me.

I am ever amazed that the questions that pop into my head as I am planning our September trip seem to get answered before I can ask them here on the Dis!! :cool1: I'll have to check on this as our trip gets closer, as we have all of our insurance/banking with USAA.

Did not know this! Will definitely look into it. We use USAA for everything else.

I just did this for our cruise. The company they use, Trip Insured, got good reviews on mytripinsurance. It was $12 cheaper than their site.

We have used USAA travel insurance several times. The only problem we've had is that they only allow one change of cruise date. Because you have to purchase insurance shortly after the initial cruise deposit (in order to cover any pre-existing conditions) this was a problem when we were moving a dummy date. Now we use Costco insurance - similar price and it covers pre- existing conditions as long as you purchase the insurance by the paid in full date.
