We leave on Nov. 6th - Nov. 14th for Beach Club and my father-in-law is in the final stages of Pick's disease. All treatments are done and he is being sent home for whatever time is left and pain meds to keep him comfortable. I have never bought travel insurance and not sure if I can even get it this close to my trip and if it would cover anything. If he passes while I am there, I will have to fly home for the wake, funeral, etc. This vacation is me, my adult niece, my daughter who is 10 and my youngest son who is 4. Anyone know if travel insurance would help at all?

You could call Travel Guard and ask them.

Put your mind at ease by including travel insurance in your vacation plans. As a Disney Vacation Club Member, you can purchase travel insurance directly from Travel Guard® International. Coverage will protect you from losses on reservations using Vacation Points/Reservation Points, cash or a combination by providing cash reimbursements (not Vacation Points or Reservation Points) for specific circumstances.

The premiums for the plan are paid directly to Travel Guard International before the reservation cancellation penalty begins. For more information, call Travel Guard International directly, toll-free at (866) 690-6858 and reference Disney Vacation Club ID#007004.

The pre-existing condition (known) could be an issue buying any insurance if you've already paid for the majority of your expenses.
