Hi all,

I am planning a May trip and thinking about driving but want to stop and stay at a nice hotel along the way not too far off of I 95. I am coming from NJ so I am thinking South/North Carolina might be the best stop each way. Anyone have any real nice hotels they have stayed out that they would recommend? Thx - T

I drove down from Long Island last month and stayed the night in Rocky Mount, NC. It was a good halfway point and there were at least 10-15 hotels right off of 95. I stayed at the Tru by Hilton, which is probably the newest in the area. It was nice but the room was smallish. Plenty of other choices, though, right there.

Have you thought about taking the Auto Train? It saves you both the driving and the need for overnight accommodations as you sleep on the train while your vehicle is transported in a cargo car.. The Auto Train departs from Lorton, VA (DC metro) and arrives in Sanford, FL (just north of Orlando metro)..
