Travel from WDW resort to surrounding areas?

My DH and I are going to the world May 11-18. One of the days we are wanting to go to sea world and universal. What is the best way to get to those parks? Rent a car for a day or two, taxi, or other?

I know that Universal has a package ticket that includes your transportation to and from your Dismey resort.
I would go to their web site to check this out.
Sea World is not far from WDW , I think a taxi would probably work well for going there.
