Hey Guys,
We have booked a trip for Nov27-Dec7, Just wondering what days people usually travel for the american thanksgiving. We intend to leave 26th of Nov. Thanks Kathy

Hi Kathy,

The two busiest days at airports are the Wednesday (22nd this year) and the Sunday (26th this year). So it looks like your timing was excellent on the back end but you may run into some congestion on the incoming end.

Bob

Thanks Bob, I forgot to write we are driving. Is much open on the Sunday? ie for food. Do you suggest us booking a hotel on the way down? we could leave sat

Kathy,

Not sure about your meaning of the "open" question...if you mean the theme parks, yes, everything is open as usual. If you mean stores and restaurants on the drive down, yes everything is open as usual!

You will run into A LOT of traffic on Sunday all up and down the Eastern part of the US (actually, all over the US!).

Bob

Would you suggest we leave on the Saturday if we were wanting to avoid trafffic congestion, on the Sunday? The reason I asked if there would be much open, as akid we drove home on Thanksgiving weekend and it was like driving through a ghost town. And very little in the way of restaaurants were open. THanks Kathy

We booked a room at POP for the 26th, we'll leave Goderich Ontario at 4am Saturday the 25 and do most of our driving that day. Thanks for your help BOB ~ :cool1: we getto stay 11 days instead of 10
