What do you like to do the first afternoon/evening at Disney (the day you arrive)?

Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue

Normally we just hang out at the resort, but this year we decided to knock out the studios since it's our least favorite and only a half day park for us.

Depends. Last time we arrived at 10ish am, and spent the day at DS and our resort. Next time we will arrive at 10pm or later after work/school all day, so it will be right to sleep without even unpacking, because we're changing resorts the next day.

If we are staying on site (always POR) we like to have lunch at the resort (we usually roll in right around 1:00 in the afternoon, so it is a late lunch) then hop the boat down to Disney Springs for a bit of shopping, and supper.

This past year we were staying offsite, so we had lunch in Daytona Beach, then went to Disney Springs for supper.

After supper we call it a night, so we have time to get settled into our accommodations, and get some rest so we are ready for the park the next morning.

We normally take a red from the west coast, land at 5 or 6 in the morning & arrive at Epcot in time for rope drop!

This year, we visited MK, but I decided against that for our June 2017 trip. We are gonna do a tour resort, pool afternoon with a Disney Springs evening. It was just too hectic, for us, the other way.

We always fly in the morning, so we can get to a park mid-afternoon or evening. I always plan mid-afternoon to evening fastpasses at the park of choice on the day we arrive.

We always take the first morning flight and arrive in a park before lunch. We usually end up at Epcot. DH and I was just discussing this same topic for our March trip and for now, we are going to go to MK and go with the flow. We were debating going to Disney Springs instead but we'll see. Maybe we will have a short day at MK, do a little shopping and then head back to the resort. It's just a question of how crazy the kidlets are. ;)

We usually arrive mid-day, around 1-2 PM. We spend the afternoon at Disney Springs doing some shopping and have a nice, relaxing dinner.

We like this approach for two reasons:

1) No matter how many times we say we'll go back to DS throughout the trip we either can't pry ourselves away from the parks, or we're just too exhausted to go. It's our only opportunity for some really good shopping.
2) We like having a long, drawn out meal to relax after a day of traveling. This just feels like 'vacation' to us. Then, everyone to bed early. We hit the ground running with a pre-park opening ADR at Crystal Palace the first morning of every trip.

This year we too hit DHS for a half day. It is our least favorite park and we were able to do everything we wanted in the afternoon. Then unpack, and settle in

We usually arrive at 9am to our resort and tackle the day in Magic Kingdom. This is our first time flying in at night and landing at 8:30pm I am pretty sure it's check in..eat and bed. (Which I am totally looking forward too since we are always so tired after a long day of travel).

In the past we've arrived in Orlando a day or two before and stayed with XH's family. On Disney day we wake up early and head to our resort by 9 am, check in and go to MK.

This past trip we had an 8 am flight with plans to hit MK on arrival day. Well we had 12 hours in flight delays and didn't get to the Poly until 10 pm. We watched the fireworks on the ME. We went right to bed and then hit MK bright and early the next morning.

I don't think I can be in WDW and NOT go right to the MK. For future I still hope to do a very early flight and get into the MK. Hoping for no more flight delays!

Get settled in, Chef Mickey's for dinner and then a monorail ride to get in the mood. Early to bed for early start the next morning!
