Sorry all, I know it's been done to death, but I can't get the search facility to work!

A friend of mine is thinking of booking a holiday with TCD and wanted to hear opinions from people who have used them, as they seem very reasonable.

Anyone feel like sharing an opinion for her please?

Thank you muchly :)

We have travelled with TCD end Sept 2001 and Aug2002. Flights ran on time, we had no problems. We would use TCD again. We booked through Thomas Cook for this August only because they had an offer on and were cheaper.
Hope this helps

We used them for the first time in Sep 2003.

The booking procedure is quick and effecient, but don't expect too much in the way of tailoring your requirements, most alterations incur extra tops ups fees to pay, such as booking your own car, that will be £75 each sir, etc.

We flew from Manchester with their airline, EAL, 14 nights in a villa on Indian Point, full size car with the insurance. For 4 adults and 1 shild this came to a total of £3000.

The villa was allocated on arrival, it only took a few minutes to sort out, the car was through Dollar, I was daft enough to go the toilet after getting the villa sorted and ended up at what seemed to be the longest queue in the world.

We had no problems with TCD, they delivered exactly as described, no more, no less. The flight was not up to Virgin standard, the staff/meals/films were a bit ropey or well worn, I'll let you guess how they apply.

We would book with them again, but would consider the upgrade to Sunshine First.

We have booked everything on our own this time, we wanted to fly from a 'local' airport, Glasgow and at Xmas. The option we went with was with Icelandair for a total of £908 for 2 adults and 1 child, £290 for a medium sized car and £350 for two weeks at the Comfort Inn LBV. We may change the accomodation at a later date, the bonus of booking direct with CI LBV is that you pay nothing and can cancel without penalty up to 24 hours before arriving.

We are almost TCD veterans having gone with them many times now.

I've had the occasional gripe (like the location of our last villa being nearer Miami than WDW) but generally they have been fine.

They are cheap (I've found) and for that I guess you get older planes (but not unbearable, as the seat pitch is fine even in cattle class), and fewer trimmings than I would guess Virgin would supply, but it does what it says on the tin.

We are using them again this August, but only fly drive, as I wanted to see EXACTLY where we would be staying on a map BEFORE we got there. :p

They can be hard to get through to if you have a query post booking, but hey, show me a call centre that isn't like that. ;)

I hope that helps

Craig

Flew with TCD in August & found them fine & would use them again.

We only bought flights from them but at the time of booking found them the cheapest for direct flights.

yes older planes & just eatable food , but good staff.
DH 6 ft 3 surprised & pleased at leg room

friends came back with them Tues & plane was delayed 22 hours due to a technical fault.
