Well bang goes my trip with the kid's and grandkids in April

Just hope i can get my £1,000 deposit back

If you paid by credit card then you will have to fill out the claim forms from ATOL and they should refund you when you supply a copy of your c/c statement, it may take some time though so be prepared to wait.
If you paid by debit card the same applies but may take longer. If ATOL won't pay out then your c/c will refund you, if Atol won't pay out and you paid by debit card you have to go through ABTA

i actually called TCD a few days ago, but got interupted before i booked anything...

please be assured that you should get a full refund, it will take a while but all XL group holidays were fully bonded.

Good news is that VA & BA have a sale on until 23rd September which covers April next year. If you can afford it on your credit card (maybe a zero interest for a year one) then book now. If not then perhaps in Jan you get get a flight in the sales that VA, BA and indirects have over Xmas/New Year.

So sorry to hear this. Heard lots of people ont he radio who have lost their holidays and its terrible. You save up for so long and egt so excited - I really feel for the people who booked flight only and paid by debit card. They have pretty much no chance of getting anything back.

I think from now on I shall be booking everything with a credit card. Just in case.

Hope everone effected gets somethign sorted out.
