travel city direct??????

you will get good and bad storys about tcd,

his is our 4th trip with them, not really had many problems apart from our plane changing,

we have enjoyed using them and will continue to do so

hope all goes well if your using tcd

Have heard some real horror stories on here about them, yes you hear that about all airlines but personally I would not choose to go with them.

We returned from WDW 2 weeks ago travelling with TCD.We flew from Manchester and both outward and inward flights were on time and both actually gained time in flight. We travelled in a 747 in the main cabin. There was plenty of leg room and I'm 6ft 4.Plane was probably older than say Virgin use but it did the job.We would have no hesitation in using TCD again. We saved £600 using them as opposed to Virgin for a like for like holiday.Thats a lot of spending money.

I've used them once and found them to be very poor, they swopped planes prior to our departure and we got bumped down from our upgrades, the replacement plane was on its last legs and the faults on the plane (lights not working, tv and sound not working, light not working in toilet) were still unresolved two weeks later when we used the same plane to fly back to Manchester. Getting in touch with them both prior to our travel and indeed, once we returned was a joke. They were however, cheaper than Virgin.

As you can see on the above posts, there are plenty who've had better experiences, but I prefer the superior customer service and facilities offered by Virgin, I'd much prefer to pay a bit extra safe in the knowledge that my one holiday of the year (in some cases, two) is going to be an enjoyable time, right from the very start.

We used them last year and were very happy with them and would use them again. :)

No probs when we used them last year - have booked with them againa nd travel in 9 weeks - yippee :cheer2:  :cheer2:

Used them several times and despite occasional problems we have booked with them again for this year. The saving with TCD is just too much for us to justify Virgin or similar, however much we'd like to use it.

Just returned yesterday flying with TCD. This was our third trip with them and we have no major problems and would fly with them again. We went Sunshine First last time and this, so can't say we saved money(!) but we certainly enjoyed it! I believe economy seating is actually bigger than Virgin and then there are the two upgrades upstairs which are good value too. We did have an hour's delay on the outward journey last year and this, but that was due to the de-icing process, not TCD's fault. We seem to choose to fly on the first snowy days of the year! Oh my, just back and I want to go again! :guilty:

Hi
We have just come back from a 2 week holiday with them - we took their fly drive option - once you start adding accommodation the savings are less.

As for the service we thought it was very much like being on your average european package holiday type flight .....just longer of course (not surprising since they are part of the Excel group who are one of the biggest operators over Europe). We also left on time and arrived early both ways - though in the end, due to airport handling problems, it did not result in any major advantage.

Yes, you get the odd headset problems etc - though most complaints I've read, seem to be based on people not getting their sunshine first or other upgrades. Planes do look a little dated but leg room is good and food and drink service was OK. You don't get the seat-back TVs..... but for the return journey you are most likely to be sleeping to counteract the time diffference in any case.

I have flown Virgin and BMI to the US before and yes they definitely do offer a better overall quality of service, and are infinitely more reliable being schedule, rather than charter airline....... but whether you thnk that is really worth the extra ££££ is a personal choice.

As with a previous poster, we saved £800 with 4 of us flying TCD - this pretty well paid for the majority of our 4 Night Disney Cruise (now personally I like the idea of an airline that gives free Disney Cruises ....or Universal & Disney Park Passes etc. at the same price as Virgin flights !).

I would definitely use them again.

My advice would be if you book with TCD......... be prepared for a typical european airline service ...including all that can go wrong with those.

one of the problems you get with TCD is when you phone up for a price and they ask for your phone number it gets linked to that price,so if you phone back at a later date the price dosent seam to drop below what you were quoted.I remeber they they used to be called Liberty travel and were based in blackpool

We went with TCD in 2003. Our flight was delayed by 8 hours but TCD were very very good to us. Regular updates and also £30 worth of meal and snack vouchers.

We would definatly go again with them even though last year we flew with First Choice on their new plane with tv in the back of seats and all the other extras, to make a good saving to have more spending money we would go with TCD again. :sunny:

Our family travelled with TCD last october and everything was fantastic.
Id read lots of negative reports about them but our flight was bang on time(both ways)and i thought it was more comfortable than Virgin.
Maybe the only gripe i had was that the cabin crew were not as easy on the eye as virgins-only joking of course!
Good luck

Hi,

Another supporter of TCD, used them 3 or 4 times without problem :)

Steve :)

Went with them last year & didnt hesitate to re-book with them as soon as we got back, the first time was a fly drive so we saved a bundle on flights but this time we included accomodation and still saved a lot.

We flew upper deck 2 years ago and all was fine. Really attentive cabin crew and was easier to see the film screen with only a few rows. Seat spacing was good and the luggage space to the side of the window seats was excellent for putting your feet up for a snooze! Not sure if all the planes are like this. I know they gave swapped the aircraft quite often. Family friend's went last year and got downgrading because of change of aircraft. Seems pretty common. My parents don't want to fly with them again because we had such a perfect journey last time, it just couldn't be beaten and there have been so many bad stories since.

It's just a bit like flying easy jet! Def a good option if you haven't got young kids, Sanford airport is pretty boring anyway even without a delay!
