Is it possible to book flight only with TCD? Their flydrive prices seem reasonable but the car hire included is on the expensive side.

Hiya,

Yes you can just book flight only. I just phoned them this afternoon and got a quote of 516 total for two adults flying 16th Sept for two weeks - amazing! Not sure whether to go with them yet tho as there are some mixed reports on service, plane quality etc but think we will take the chance in the end as some ppl love them :)

Good luck,
Gaspodé

I've just priced a flydrive for your dates at £694 son there is a saving, but would the saving be used on independent car hire?

Yes its a good saving :) Neither my fiancé or I drive so we will not be using the saving for a car but for goodies ;)

Best Wishes,

I just booked flights only with TCD for the 9th September, £476 for 2 flights plus £32 each for transfers

As an update to the above I have had a message left for me to say they can't let me book the transfers unless I book accomodation. I don't know if they mean I have to have their accomodation or any accomodation.

They mean their accomodation. But don't worry about it - just book a transfer yourself, or even a taxi wouldn't cost much (if anything) more than TCD are asking. See Sanford Airport web site and click on ground transport for a whole list. Mears is widely used.

I looked at the Coach USA website to see how much it would cost but can't seem to find an option for Sanford Airport or even Florida ?

Birtie,
We have booked with TCD again this year (we went with them the last time we visited Orlando) we got a great deal again this time.
2 weeks in Aug/Sep, for 3 Adults + Car (All In) + Hotel (Best Western Plaza) all for £949.
It leaves us with lots of extra spends!!!! :bounce:
I know a few people find TCD flights a bit lacking but at the end of the day its only a taxi in the sky!
I understand people with kids probably expect a little more, but 3 thirty somthings out for 2 weeks of Disney mania...I don't think you can beat it!

That looks a good deal Jue! Did you book it online or phone them? I can't manage to get a price as good as yours online. If you phoned, did you haggle to get that price?

Hi again Bertie,
My hubby was the star when it came to getting the deal, we first looked on teletext and online found 4 reasonable deals then phoned each one in turn asking for their best price. He then phoned all of them up again and told the odd little white lie to each company saying that such and such is under cutting you can you match it. After an hour or so ringing round we got back to TCD and he said I'll book it here and now if you can beat the co-ops deal of £1005, and that's how we got the great price...In fact the co-op's best price was about £1400.
I think it was just because he didn't give up and was playing each firm off the other and as we had booked before with TCD he laid it on a bit heavy telling them he was a loyal customer etc, but it worked...cheers TCD.

You generally get really good prices withTCD if you book well in advance - we are going to Florida Feb 2006 - I booked this in Feb 2005 and for 2A and 2C Fly drive it was £1210 in total from M'chester- I've noticed the same deal is now £250 more already.

My only complaint is that we asked if we could add more people to our booking at a later date, they said was no problem only that the flight may be more expensive (fair enough) - but they actually want to charge more for our friends' flights as part of our party, than if they booked these flights independently ...in which case they then hammer them for an extra car. Very naughty TDC !!!!!

Hi, you can book flights on their own but tbh the reduction is minimal - for us it was about £150 different. If you need a car I think the best option is to go with them as to do flight and car seperately would work out more expensive.
