Travel card...

Some of you know I had an issue with credit card fraud last time I went to Florida with my fairfx card. They failed to resolve the problem and it left me with hundreds of $ lost.

So I won't be using them again. I've now got the post office travel card which is a good rate (today's is 154.60) but I now have more than $1k on it so am getting wary again and wanted to order another card so I don't have all my eggs in one basket so to speak. At least then if I do get struck by lightening twice I'll have a back up while it gets sorted.

Has anyone else got the post office card? Generally the post office services are good so hoping there are no bad reviews?

Also, can anyone recommend another card with good rates, good customer service and fast support if something went wrong again? Fairfx is no longer and option for me.

I'm afraid I can't help as I always use Fairfx. We did have the Travelex Cash Passport one year and it was fine but we tend to have money left on our pre-paid card at the end of our holiday and, unfortunately, with that one there is a non-use charge. If you know you will defintiely spend it all (or you are ahppy to withdraw it in ££ when you return) the Cash Passport is fine. It works exactly the same as Fairfx or any other pre-paid card.

Another option ot consider is getting a fee-free credit card (I have the Post OFfice one) and using that to pay for stuff, keeping the money back to pay it off when you get home.

I don't like credit cards, and I don't have a UK one lol I like to pay everything off before we go and save up spending money before we go so we don't end up overdoing it. I'd be rubbish with a credit card, I'd spend far too much! lol
