Hello...this is my first time posting (although I lurked alot last year and was able to gain alot of valuable help for our trip last Sept). We are planning to go again this coming Dec and this time we are not going to have a car and will depend on Disney's Busses to get us around. How easy is it to get to the restaurants in the other hotels if we are staying at POP? I am thinking about going to the Trail's End buffet, Chef Mickeys, and probably others? Not sure yet. Do the buses travel between the hotels or do we have to get to the monorail to get to some? Thanks so much for the info!!!

Welcome to the DIS. :flower:

I lurked for quite a while before I started posting as well. Glad you're joining us!

Anyway, there are no buses between hotels although there is still a bus from FW to WL. You will need to use a park or DTD as a transfer point. We find all the MK hotel restaurants fun to get to via monorail or boat. WL and FW can be reached by boat. And there is a new bus from MK to WL.

You can get to the Boardwalk and Y&BC restaurants from MGM or Epcot via a slowmoving boat but walking will usually be faster.

One more resaon we think the MK resorts have better options.

The MK hotels would be easily accessable during park hours since youuu could take the MK bus and then hop on the monrail. Same with WL/FW go to MK then take the ferry to FW/WL. After park closing you would likely need to go to DTD to transfer busses.
ALK would be the hardest to access but is well worth it. Boma is amazing. You would most likely need to transfer busses at DTD.

Hi, Kelly, and welcome to the DIS Boards!

We always use Disney transportation exclusively when we are at WDW, and we often eat at restaurants at the different resorts. It can be a bit time-consuming to get from point A to point B sometimes, but the wonderful resort restaurants make the effort worth it. And we'd rather spend the extra time letting someone else do the driving rather than fumbling with maps and worrying about parking.

You've already gotten some good advice on the best way to travel to the MK or Epcot resorts. If you have specifice transportation questions, be sure to check out the Transportation Board here on the DIS. Those folks are full of great info on getting around WDW. :)
