I think that I heard that there is a path to walk between Epcot and MGM. Can you tell me where it is located (on both the Epcot and MGM sides)? Also, about how long will the walk take?

Is there also a boat between Epcot and MGM? Again, where and how long?

Thanks for any information!

Beth

They say the walk takes 20 to 30 minutes. I've never done it. There is also a boat that follows the same route. There is an exit back by the entrance to the countries on the France side. The boat ride can take 10 to 40 minutes because it has to stop at the resorts along the way. I don't remember where the boat lands near MGM. If you want a little walk go over to the Boardwalk and you can still catch the boat from there after grabbing an ice cream cone. I stayed at the Dolphin a few years ago and used the waterways a lot.

I timed the walk from MGM to the Boardwalk. It took me 10 minutes from the time I left the MGM gate to the time I reached the buildings at the Boardwalk. I was alone and I walk fast. Your time may vary.

I would say it's at least another 10 minutes' walk to Epcot.

From Epcot to MGM the boat takes about a half hour, not including time spent waiting for the boat to pick you up.

The boat dock at MGM will be behind you to the right if you are facing the main entrance. The walkway will be behind you on your left along the lake if you are facing the main entrance. The boat will take you to Epcot from MGM, making stops at Swan/Dolphin, Beach Club and the Boardwalk, the 4th stop will be Epcot International Gateway which is between France on your right as you enter Epcot and England on your left. If you are walking from MGM just follow the walkway a bit past the end of the Boardwalk and you'll see the Epcot dock and the entrance is just past it. I would say probably a good 20 minutes.

In our experiance we always beat the boat. Especially if there is a crowd waiting at the MGM dock, and no boat in sight. And just the thing to walk off a dinner!

We never walked form EPCOT to MGM... We walked every time from the Dolphin to EPCOT.. Very easy plesant walk on the boardwalk. We also walked to MGM.. That seemed longer but it could be because we didn't have the boardwalk to distract us... Our DD, 2.5, loved the walks... (Well she rode in her stroller!)

it took us about 20 minutes strolling from MGM to Epcot. and we still beat the boat.

Is there someplace that shows a map of the walkway? I've been to the Boardwalk and walked over to the Swan and Dolphin, but didn't realize that I could get to MGM also. We'll be park hopping from Epcot to MGM on May 30th and I thought we'd have to take the boat. Sounds like walking would be faster, just not sure of how to get there.

Thanks

So it sounds like if I walk out the main entrance at MGM, I should find the walkway off to my right.

If I leave Epcot by the International Gateway near France, I'll find the pathway there?

Correct?

Thanks again!

As you leave MGM, walk straight out. The buses will be to your right and you will see the water/end of the canal to your left. You will see the dock for the friendship boat. If you continue walking around the edge of the water, you will come across the path/walkway to the Boardwalk. It is on the opposite side of the canal from the boat dock.

You will walk along the canal and go under a bridge (busy road overhead). On your right will be the Boardwalk Villas. You could continue walking along this path until you come to teh Boardwalk near Atlantic Dance, but it is quicker to cut through the Main Pool area of BWV. When you see the Rollercoaster slide, take a right and follow the path behind it to the "archway". Go under the archway and take a left. You will be walking in front of some shops (Wyland Gallery) and you will see the surrey bikes and the Boardwalk boat dock. When you get to the dock, take a right and follow that path to EPCOT.

The path will enter EPCOT at the International Gateway. This is between France and Great Britain in the World Showcase.

The entire walk is about 1.5 miles and will probably take about 30 minutes if you walk at an average pace. It's easy to do and there are always people around to ask if you are unsure of where to go. The path is well lighted at night.

HTH. Best wishes -

Are there any signs along the way to make sure you're going in the right direction?

We once tried to walk from TTC to the Poly's monorail station and got completely lost:o (before we actually stayed at the Poly)

Hi Beth,

I walked this path yesterday (Saturday). Three healthy adults walked from MGM to Epcot in about 25 minutes. It gets a little confusing when you turn the corner at the Boardwalk, but if you keep and eye on Spaceship Earth, I think you'll be okay. It's a pleasant stroll in the evening these days.

It might help if you get some water before you leave one park, too.

Sincerely,

Len Testa
