Travel Agents changed ownership

Hi,

We booked our Virgin Holidays Orlando trip with a local travel agent.

In the last few days, the Travel Agents has changed decor, displaying First Choice signs! There is also a sign on the window saying that they are now in partnership with First Choice.

Being me, my first reaction was to panic and think "Uh-oh, I hope this doesn't affect our existing booking". My friend who was with me says that it doesn't matter much anyway because our booking is with Virgin Holidays, even though the travel agent made the booking for us.

I did pop in, and the rep said that everything is OK for existing bookings.

Has anyone else had a similar thing happen? Did it cause any problems?

there is no legal problem with your booking - merely the ABTA number will have changed, don't worry about it, its fine, you are bonded through ATOL through Virgin holidays so you're all covered

My ABTA number changed in August (changed branches, same company, different address) and all my existing bookings were changed over.
