Travel Agent

Am I better off booking through a travel agent or on my own. I am so anal I am afraid I would stress that they wouldn't be watching for codes for me etc. Have any of you had a good/bad experience booking through an agent?

i used to book thru travel agents all of the time and never had a problem. of course at that time, i didn't know much about booking on my own so who is to say i actually got the best deal? some people are blessed to have a really good travel agent that they trust but with the internet now, it really isn't necessary if you don't mind doing the work yourself. if you already know that it will stress you out with worrying about getting a good deal, then i would say book everything yourself. to get the best deal, i also try to book everything separate as vacation packages tend to give you items you don't need so i would look over those very carefully before booking. I don't think that you will go wrong if you use Dreams Unlimited (DU); they will not only make any PSs you request but they will also check for the lowest rates (this pretty much means AAA, AP, Gov't Rate). As far as other discount codes, I would check out mousesavers.com and see what they are and perhaps book your vacation yourself or call DU and see if they can apply that code. Hope that helps

I am a complete control freak! I bit the bullet and let DU help me with a reservation to test them out. They have saved me $750 on a family cruise and secured a hotel reservation that WDW told me was sold out (called twice and told the same thing). Regina has also dealt with many problems saving me time and energy. This control freak highly recommends DU. I have also heard that DU is very successful in securing the discount codes if they become available.
