I need to buy two tickets from Bangor, Maine to MCO in August. I'm having a hard time finding good prices. Is it worth checking with a travel agent for flight only?

As long as there is no charge to ask the agent what the lowest fare is that they show for your dates, why not ask. There is typically only a service charge if you purchase tickets. But the agent finds you a good deal, it's worth the charge. Keep in mind that Bangor is a smaller airport with limited airline options and thus higher fares. Flying from Portland might bring cheaper options.

A travel agent may be able to get you a better price. Chances are they are may have to charge you a "ticketing or booking fee"..

Airlines no longer pay travel agents any commission so they may have to charge the client a small fee. $15-$25 per ticket. By the travel agent making the booking for you they are assuming the responsibility of getting legal spelling of names on the tickets, and keeping up with the airlines schedule (in case of any changes, etc)
