I was looking for advice on booking a trip to Disneyland.

Is it better to use travel agent or book on your own?

I don't need to book airfare or rental car. (We are actually travelling by motorhome.)

I have DH convinced that after going cross country in motorhome, we should treat ourselves to two nights at Grand Californian.

So we just need GC ressies and park tickets. Or package that includes both.

Do travel agents get better rates? Better packages? Better options, rooms than I could on my own?

Advice greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Pam

As a travel agent, I like to recommend using one for all trips :)

But what you described is so simple, that you shouldn't have any trouble booking it yourself. If you want, compare what you find to what a travel agent can get, just to be sure you're not missing out on any deals. If you don't have one you work with already, AAA Travel is a good chain, I'd go to them myself if I wasn't one already!

You could probably book everything cheaper by yourself, but if you're looking for any perks, go with AAA. Yes, it is a little more expensive, but we booked our Feb trip through AAA for unlimited Fastpass, plus we received free lanyards, pins, photo-ops, breakfasts, etc. We felt we deserved the royal treatment - and since Disneyland lines have such a bad rep, we thought the unlimited FP was worth the cost - I can recommend a good agent too!
