Travel agent experience

I know that with the complexity of Disney vacation planning, a travel agent could be very helpful to the process, but I am wondering about Universal travel agents. There are a few travel agents out there that do not charge a fee for their services, and only get paid by the resorts with which they book you into, so that got me thinking.

I'm a big penny-pincher and believe that I've got the art of booking a Universal trip down, but does anyone have any good experiences with travel agents that saved them more money than they thought originally?

I already have my flight taken care of, am going for Seasonal Passes, and am looking to stay at the Holiday Inn nearby. Given these criteria, can you see anywhere a travel agent could potentially save me money?

Honestly I doubt it. With the tools out there on the net to DIY, I don't see an agent being able to save you any more on hotel and park tickets than you could find on your own out there.

I doubt it. Look at Costco, AAA and the different official Universal packages. They might have some incentives.

You can plan it all by yourself quite easily

Need tickets?
Sams club, UT are both good for deals than buying direct from UO

Rooms
Check mousesavers universal section and sign up for emails for universal as some lucky peeps get special deals

If you have 3 or more nights booked,
Stay more save more is a general code for the public that UO puts out

I haven't used a travel agent in years. I book everything myself. For me half the fun is in the planning.

The first time we stayed at UO I felt the same way. So the first time we used Dreams Unlimited which is owned by the same people who own this site and do the great podcast. They are wonderful, I have used them a couple times since and also done it on my own. I loved that after we booked our resv they continued to look for more discounts and then adjusted our reservation. They also assisted us with a few dining reservations etc.
