Travel Activity Box

So I am putting together a Travel Activity Box for my girls for the journey from Utah to Disneyland. So far this is what I have in it:

Personalized activity books I made (see http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2431608)
Glow sticks (more for nights in the park)
4 Disney Movies we don't have
A weaving loom with yarn
Treats
Mad Libs

Anything any of you do while traveling that I could add? Oh we leave in the morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's almost what my list looks like for DD when we make our drive down in June lol. DD also has a whiteboard that folds up that she loves to use. I guess because it's so fun to be able to erase everything with a swipe of the eraser.

I also plan on packing a few books, and I'm going to go to Dollar Tree and pick up a couple little games/toys as surprises for her. I'm hoping with that stuff, plus her movies and video games, she won't get too bored.

Oh ya...I forgot the Wii that we are taking Kids sure don't travel like we used to.

What about a map of your route from Utah to Anaheim? They could trace the route as you go or put stickers on the places you stop along the way. We also used to have those bingo games for road trips. You know, the ones where you have to look for things you might see and then you slide the little door closed for the ones you find. Since you're leaving in the morning you might not be able to find that but you could make up your own with pictures from the internet or clip art. You could do a stop sign, an airplane, a red car, etc. I also used to love playing with those colored pipe cleaners you get at craft stores. I remember one trip my mom bought a bunch and i had fun making different things with them.

Craft things like fresh playdoh (not that messy when brand new, I get the tiny party size ones and they love to mix the colors), pipe cleaners for making creatures or spelling out their names, those buckets of sticky foam shapes to make things or decorate things... 30 min. in your local craft store and you'll find a few ideas and be sure to visit the dollar bins! Dollar Store or Dollar General is also a great place for Disney stuff~I picked up $1 Disney comic books and they loved it.

Great ideas. I have a map in the activity book I created and they will color the states we travel through. I also have words for them to look for on signs that they can circle (similar to the bingo idea). I love the pipe cleaner idea. Headed to the craft store tonight I will get some.

Pixie, I will look for the comic books.

Did I mention we are leaving tomorrow? Not sure who is more excited me or the girls.
