Trashtastic TV Monday: The Bachelorette!

Okay... so half of me is thinking about what a complete JERK Bentley is, how bad I feel for Ashley and that the roast was THE most idiotic idea for a date.. Where do these people come up with this stuff?

BUT...the other part of me is saying 'I want more! This is great TV'. :-)

I feel sick to my stomach that they let Bentley stay there without even giving Ashely a small hint of what a snake he was. Especially when Chris was talking to her before the rose ceremony. HELLOOOO!!! He acts like he really cares about the people on the show but he drags it out even more, FULLY knowing what's going on just to make it more interesting for the viewers.

I absolutely agree that the worst part is how Bentley used his 2 year old daughter as an excuse. He should have just come clean to everybody right then and there. I hope his daughter never sees this.

I'm not sure if you guys like to read the online spoilers, but if they're accurate (it's hit or miss) I'd be happy with who she ends up with at the end. :-) Don't worry, I will not ever post any spoilers here. If you want to find out you'll have to search for them online.

Until next week!

PS - Does anyone else thinks Ames looks like a frog?

We felt SO bad for her last night. :( dot dot dot... What a jerk jerk jerk...

Okay, the entire roast thing was a set-up for pure drama. That was AWFUL!
So I missed the first half last night. What was the roast, and what did William say that was so awful?

"I'm afraid it's going to hurt her a little...but stand back." (Said with a smirk) OK, creep creep creep. I feel like I should shower now.

It tell ya, these shows don't give a single gal much hope. :scared:
Man, Bentley could have saved himself a lot of annoyance (how long Ashley kept crying, and that it just went on & on) if he'd just been honest & said "I'm just not into you. I was hoping for Emily." But then she'd've been mad at him, instead of heart-broken. What a Jerk! And I *really* feel sorry for his daughter!

Sayhello

It's sad to see that there would actually be a person out there who would act in such a manner that Bentley did. I'm sure he was just looking for his 15 minutes of fame, but that is no reason to go and toy with someone else's emotions. Especially since she has to watch the show and his commentary after, that is just horrible.

I agree with the whole Chris trying to get Ashley to see what is going on with Bentley thing. I mean, it would save her a whole lot of emotions if she just knew that Bentley wasn't there for her at all. Rather than her feeling like she has lost something quite important, and not the jerk that we all know him to be.

I guess William said something that hurt Ashley, because she was insecure about that particular topic. I mean I think we all know what that is like, when someone picks on you for something that you arn't that comfortable with or are insecure about (we all have insecurities). But in a way, how was he supposed to know that she was not comfortable with the whole "What if they are expecting Emily" thing. I'm happy that she gave him a second chance, I really like William.

Are you guys still watching???
I do hope that she works things out with one of the guys after the jerk.

ACK! No new Bachelorette?? Now I'm stuck watching Wipe Out reruns.

We were in wdw last week, so I just caught up. Glad shes finally caught on to bentley and hope we don't have to hear his name again! I was surprised the one guy stormed off after she filled them all in. Seems a bit dramatic, even for the batchelorette.

I missed it last week (and my TIVO didn't catch it...ugh), so I was happy to get caught up. I was really eager to see how she handled the entire Bentley situation. I still was shocked when she practically threw herself at him when he opened the door. Gag me. ;)

I also thought it was a bit dramatic when Mickey stormed off the show. He was talking about leaving when he didn't get a one-on-one date earlier in the episode. I think he was just being a sore loser and mad she was not giving him extra attention.

What do you all think about the Brad and Emily breakup? That episode is going to be very interesting!

OMG the Brad and Emily thing just needs to die. She was only 24 for cripes sake. My oldest son is almost 24 and I consider him pretty mature and goal oriented. My concern from the beginning was more the age difference than anything. I'm not saying that a 13 yr. diff. is a big deal, if she were a little older. I am also not saying that I believe it is all her fault, just wasn't seeing it as a lasting thing.

I hope Ashley finds love. Most say that she does and she certainly has a mind of her own. She also has some great guys to pick from at this point.

As much as I didn't like Ashley at the start she seems to be really serious about all this - way less rehearsed & she's not just doing what she's supposed to. I hope she has better luck than most of the people on this show!

As for brad and Emily - I didn't pay attention to th age difference but I know another couple that had the same gap and started out at similar ages - they didn't make it either. People are very different in their early 20s and late 30s and it's not surprising they didn't work.

Was I the only one bored tonight! I called the two castoffs at the start of the show :confused3 guess that's why this was the week to bring back Emily - light on content.

I totally agree. It seems like her and JP are in the "hard to hide" stage maybe??? I think that maybe after Bentley left, they connected and there just might be a real love story. My theory could be out in left field, but that is how it looks to me.

Is it just me, or do Ben and Constantine look really alike? I have the hardest time telling which is which.

Sayhello

I was just coming on here to post the EXACT same thing! Guess she really does like that hair - not my thing at all!

Did anybody else notice how much more touchy feely she was with jp? They were kissing right away and I don't even remember her kissing "the twins"

Wow what an episode. I think that Ames is a great guy, but no chemistry. He is going to be on Bachelor Pad btw. The twins are great guys, but there is no doubt that she is in love with JP and vice versa.

I have never and still can't tell those two apart! It drives me crazy. I am shocked nobody on the show has talked about it yet.

I really feel badly for Ames. He is a very "unique" guy. I was sobbing like a baby when she let him go. He genuinely thought there was something between them when it was so obvious there wasn't. I started to think I was reading her wrong during his hometown date when she said she was enjoying peeling back his layers. Ugh. Poor guy.

My prediction is that Ben will be the next Bachelor. He's good looking and has his own winery - that is a pretty good catch!

I just watched this weeks.

I'm glad Ames is gone. I got tired of seeing him smiling all the time. He even smiled when she let him go and didn't stop until the limo ride. He is a bit dense not to notice they had no chemistry.
I don't think Ben is quite ready to get hitched but he still seems like a nice guy.
I like Constantine. He's a down to earth guy. His family was great too.

I think J.P. needs to be careful that his jealousy and worrying about the other guys doesn't take over and mess it all up. Otherwise I think she'll choose him.
