As most of you know, I am a Swan (VR) bride. I was wondering if any non-DFTW brides had ever done a TTD on Disney property? Do they allow non-DFTW brides to do a TTD session on property? If so, what are the restrictions etc and are there any costs involved? On the Friday after our VR we are moving resorts to PORS and would love to do it in one of the pools there as it is such a beautiful resort. I would like to contact Randy and see if he can fit us a session in on any of our days at the resort, but wanted to ask whether it would even be allowed before I did that.
Any help/advice gratefully received. Thanks :thumbsup2

Yes you can Trash the Dress anytime!! I know David and Vicki Arndt just got done a few months ago with Trash the Dress with a couple that came down for their 3 year anniversary and did TTD. It's cheaper to go through outside photography and if you want to do it at the beach/pool you can use outside photographers. Good luck!! I can't wait to do TTD!!!:goodvibes Let me know what you decide

Thanks sweetie!!
Do you know whether there are any requirements such as you needing to pay for a lifeguard at a resort pool. I know that some brides here have done a TTD at resort pools and I am hoping that they have some answers before I talk to Randy.

I know the theory behind the "trash the dress" ceremony...but can you really trash your beautiful dress?

No you don't need to pay for a lifeguard if your doing it at a resort pool. The only reason you would need to pay for a lifeguard is if you were to do it at Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach, and those must be with Disney Photographers since it's in park. Good Luck!!:goodvibes

You actually don't really do any harm to the dress unless you are planning on using paint, or anything that might stain it. But the water and or sand doesn't hurt the dress, you get it drycleaned and it looks like new. I'm really excited for TTD as I love it for the unique pictures you get!!!

You need a lifeguard for Stormalong Bay. We almost got kicked out when doing ours, even though our photographers (David and Vicki) called ahead to get the okay :scared1:

Your TTD pictures are my favorites! After I saw yours, I knew I wanted to do it.
When I talked to Vicki about it she suggested a few of the other resort pools that don't require a fee and are TTD friendly. I'm thinking seriously about doing it at the beach though since I'll already have all my Wedding Pictures at Disney.:goodvibes

Thank you, that is so nice! We love our TTD pics even more than our wedding pics..while, I guess the same :goodvibes

Can I ask which resorts she suggested please?

When I had mine with Vicki they said the have done a lot at the Poly, and she seemed to like the location. I know I saw a few that Randy did at AKL - Jambo as well. I think the Kidani pool would be really amazing...especially in the kids area since there is a water playground.

We were married at GF back in April 2007 and went through David and Vicki for out TTD a few months ago. We did ours at the Polynesian and we had no problems. I would definitely do it if I were you. My dress didn't get ruined at all!

Can you use the Poly pool if you are staying at another resort? I own DVC and so therefore have pool hoping priviledges. What do you think?

This is such a fab idea Joanne, very unbritish...I love it :lmao:

Do you have to do it very early in the morning to ensure you get the pool to yourselves? That probably sounds like a stupid question but I can't imaging many holidaymakers getting out of the way for your pics.

Your pictures are gorgeous! You did it during regular hours when the pool was open, right? It amazes me how the dresses don't get ruined.:confused3

Thank you so much! We had a great time! We started around 5pm and went until about 8pm. The pool was busy but when the guest saw us taking pictures they were very respectful to move out of the way. At one point when we were at the top of the slide, Vicki and David got everybody cheering for us when we came down the slide. That was so much fun. The lifeguards were really easy to work with. I would definitley consider the Poly for a TTD session.

I'm glad that I didn't spend the money to get my dress dry cleaned because the chlorine from the pool pretty much cleaned my dress. We are probably going to do another TTD in the future to really TRASH the dress lol

Hi hun... there shouldn't be any problem with you using the Poly pool if you stay some place else. Usually when they see and bride and groom, they leave you be and let you enjoy yourselves. Also, if you go through David and Vicki Ardnt, they pretty much know everyone at Disney so you're in good hands with them. :worship: I hope this helps!

Absolutely!!! There are some great spots over at the Swan and Dolphin! I think you should do it! Totally worth it! :cutie:

I hope you don't mind me asking but how much did the trash the dress session cost? Thanks!

Pinkmiss3.... we went through David and Vicki Arndt and the session was $300 which included a High Res DVD of all the edited images. The great thing about the DVD is that they give you the rights to print the images. That ended up being very convinient being that I could print any or all of the pics for friends and family. The session usually is about 2 hours but they take tons of pictures. Many to choose from. I was thinking about going through Disney Photographic Services but I heard it was going to be like $600 or something like that... and I don't think that came with the High Res DVD.:sad2: I love David and Vicki.... they really know how to have a great time and get some pretty amazing shots!!! :worship:I hope this helped!

Thank you so much for the information! My fiancé is very interested in a Trash the Dress session. We saw your pictures and we both loved them. $300 seems like a reasonable price and the quality of the pics are great! Thanks again! :goodvibes
