Transporting 30 helium-filled balloons

How do you suggest I do this? I never figured it would be a problem, but at the time DH still had a cap on the bag of his S-10 pickup truck. I have a 2-dr Grand Am. I planned on putting the filled balloons in a large (50 gallon sized) trash bag. do you think if I split them up, 16 & 16 to a bag that I could fit one in the trunk and one in the backseat? If not, I'll have to make two trips. It's not a far drive, maybe five miles, mostly divided highway.

The only way to find out is to try and see if they fit.

Have you considered getting a helium tank and filling them yourself once you get to the place? That's what we did for my sister's birthday party and it was much easier than trying to transport them! It was pretty inexpensive too.

I did, but my PT employer will allow me to use their helium for FREE! I would have paid him $20 rather than spend $40, but so long as I wasn't doing like 100 balloons he said no problem.

This is an interesting problem. For my senior project, we are doing a color guard routine to the song "99 Red Balloons". We were talking about getting 99 red balloons and letting them got in the middle of our performance. We never considered the logistics of it, though. You'll have to try to see if it will work, but I really have no idea what we are going to do about our 99 balloons. LOL.

please don't release 99 balloons. Balloons are a serious danger to birds and other small animals that swallow the pieces after they have popped or deflated and landed on the ground again.

We got 36 heliums + a 3-foot wide mylar in the back seat and trunk of a 4-door Chrysler 300-M. I think you could get 30 in your Grand Am.

I worked at a party store all through high school. What you can do to actually keep them in the car (you will be able to fit them all in, trust me, I've seen it all) buckle the backseat seat belt and tie the ribbon around the belt. If you don't do this they will move everywhere in the car and most likely get in your way while driving.

To get them in the car: Open both doors. Have one person hold the bunch and pass the strings (tied together) to the other person through the car. The other person can then pull the balloons in (with your help push them in) and tie the bunch onto the seat belt.
