I’m sorry, I’m now confused. I’m sure this has been discussed, but I cannot find current info for some reason.

We have a (many times rescheduled) land and sea trip this spring. We asked our travel agent to add ground transfers (well, confirm that they were rescheduled from our March 2020 cruise), and she said DME isn’t running and we should use lyft/Uber.

We asked for clarification, but she made it more confusing. Can you help?

here’s our itinerary for March-

land at MCO Friday, spend the night at the airport hotel
Go to port Saturday morning
Cruise
Transfer to Star Wars galactic hotel, do whatever that entails for a weekend.
Go to airport, go home.

I think we can get a (paid) DCL bus from the airport on our way to the Fantasy and then from the Fantasy to WDW, but we have to get a Lyft from WDW to the airport at the end?
OR do the DCL transfers only go to the airport, so we’d have to do round trip to the airport and then Lyft to WDW after the cruise?

DCL still has transfers from MCO to port, and port to WDW resorts at $39 per person for each leg.

Magical Express was the free shuttle from MCO to/from WDW resorts that no longer runs (or will not be after Jan 1, 2022). But I believe there is a paid option (not sure about that) much like the DCL bus. Other than that, yes, you have to pay for transfers, one way or the other, via lyft/uber/taxi/rental car/whatever from your resort to the airport at the end of the trip.

It's true that the DCL bus (both between port and airport and port and WDW hotels) is running now (at $39 each way), but Magical Express (between airport and WDW hotels) is also still running now for free until Jan. 1 2022. I have not seen any clear guidance on whether DCL bus service was under the same contract with Mears as Magical Express or if that is separately negotiated. You are not the first person I have seen who has reported they were told they could not book buses for 2022. I can't tell, though, if you and they just had travel agents who were confused by the DME announcement, or if it is true that both DME and DCL buses will go offline in Jan 2022.

My parents are booked on DCL transfers from MCO to PC in January.

I doubt DCL would drop a paid service. I am pretty sure there will be paid DCL transfers still running in 2022 and beyond.
