I am just finishing up my CP in Transportation and have LOVED IT! I can't vouch for all of the roles in it but there are not too many to choose from. Basically you are monorails, Friendship Boats (Epcot, also where I work!), the Magic Kingdom watercraft, and buses. The bus program in new. I think it just started with my program so I can't tell you much about it. The one person I met who worked buses said that it was mostly a greeter position but this semester was sort of a test run so who knows how it will be in the future. The sassagoulas? in Downtown Disney are the other option but idk if they place CP's over there or not. Regardless, it is an awesome role to have. My first day I walked into Casting, found out my location and was told by several of the cast members helping us that I was really lucky to get my role and after 7 months in it I certainly agree. My department only has 11 CP's right now which from what I have heard is a really low number. Don't get me wrong, it has it's challenges just like every role and area of WDW but it is definitely one of the good ones. Congrats and I hope you all have a blast!
I got extended and I got transport as my new role and I am going to be on the monorails, so after january 10th I leave downtown disney and start tranning on the monorails I am really excited
I am guessing that rumor started because of the accident in July. The fact of the matter is that the only person doing what they were supposed to in that accident was the college aged pilot. Hardly a compelling argument to remove CPs from the monorails.
Good luck Twins! I would love to do Transportation but it is not an option for CSs.
