Is there a way to get to Sea World from one of the Disney resorts (ASMovies)? I mean without renting a car. We have 8 in our party and I don't know if we can rent one car for all of us. I don't want to rent two cars. Will we have to call 2 taxis? If so, maybe renting two cars might be cheaper? I have no clue about rental rates there.

You can get a lynx bus (no. 50) from TTC or DTD. It stops right across the parking lot at Sea World. Another option would be to utilise a shuttle service like Mears- book in advance and is cheaper and would be able to accomodate all in one van. This may even work out cheaper than the bus, based on 8 people.

We are planning on taking a day out for Seaworld during our stay at Disney this fall. We have a group of 12 and at first thought of renting 3 cars. We found out that the parking fee is $12 per car, adding $36 to the expense of renting 3 cars. We found a website called Happy Limo and will likely book a shuttle with them for $150 to carry all 12 of us.
The only least expensive way would to ride a bus, but we just didn't think that would convenient, considering the shuttle would also pick us up from our Disney resort.

For those who have taken the Lynx bus... which is faster trip on the bus, TTC or DTD? How long will the bus take to get to Sea World once it picks us up?

Never actually taken the bus, I just know of it. It is the same bus that starts at TTC and then goes to DTD, so getting on at DTD would be faster. It says it takes 19 minutes drom DTD to Sea World. No. 50:

Is SEA HARBOR DR & CENTRAL FL PKWY Sea World? Where does the bus drop you off at Sea World? Do you have to call for it or does it just go to DTD and Sea World every day and anyone can ride it? How much is it per person? We are planning on going to Sea World on Thursday, November 13th.

$1.75 per person each way. Yes, that is where SW is. I believe the bus drops you on the edge of the parking lot, but you cannot miss it and it is not a large car park. It is the public bus so anyone can ride it (as in it has nothing to do with Disney or SW). You just go to the bus stop at DTD (I'm sure the exact location is on North Buena Vista Drive/Hotel Plaza Blvd). It goes TTC to DTD to SW to the Lynx bus terminal and back to all those places in reverse order until it gets to TTC again...and repeat. The bus stop may actually be easier to find at TTC. It helps if you are not renting a car and find a cab or oven shuttle (based on number of people) is too expensive. HTH.

Kids are 85 cents, and younger kids (5 or 6 and under) are free.

We've used the Lynx bus on many occasions - they're really cheap and very easy to use. :) If you tell the bus driver where you're going when you get on, they'll keep you right.:thumbsup2

We have also taken minivans to SW from WDW - The last time we did this, which was in October 2006, it cost us about $60 return. We were a party of 5, but many of the minivans would have held more passengers.

HTH :)

I am so clueless when it comes to directions... will it be hard to find the bus stop from DTD? We usually get off at Marketplace, but I am willing to get off wherever it is easiest to find the bus stop!

We've only ever taken the bus from the TTC, so I'm not sure which stop the Lynx bus uses over at DTD - sorry. But you'll easily know if you're at the right stop because the sign will have "Lynx" and a paw print design on it. :thumbsup2

i'm also thinking of maybe taking the lynx to SW. What is ttc? DTD is down town disney right? How early does lynx buses start and how late does it run?

The TTC is the Ticket and Transportation Center and is basically Disney's hub point for getting around. :)

Yup, DTD is Downtown Disney. :thumbsup2

The Lynx buses run all day long - you'll be able to pick up a timetable from the bus driver once you board. Many of Disney's Cast Members use the Lynx buses to get to/from work, so I guess they must be reliable enough. :goodvibes
