Transportation to Seaworld from SSR

Wondering what would be the best option for my family: (public bus is out of the question) There are 5 of us, youngest is 3 years old

Would it be best to rent a car for 1 day? I think I read that there is a rental company at WDW that will bring car to resort?

TAXI?

A cab would be around $50 to $60 round trip. You may be able to rent a car for less.

I would opt for the cab. When you factor in car rental, car seat/booster( approx. 9.99) for the 3 year old, return gas and the parking fee (14.00) the cab might be the least expensive factor. Also, most of the agencies around Disney close early, so you may run into a second day rental: depends on how quick you are to return the car.
No, the car company will not bring the car to you, but, some will pick you up and take you to the car rental location.

A car will let you do other stuff offsite. Shop. Dinner. Groceries. If you're not going to use the car for anything but going to Seaworld a taxi might make more sense
