I have registered for my first ever Half Marathon. Whoo Hoo! I would like to stay at Beach Club or Boardwalk. My question is...does Disney provide transportation to the start? How do I get there from here?? Thanks!

I am registering in a couple weeks when I get paid again and I was wondering the same thing. I am not as concerned about the expo, but since the race starts right there at EPCOT I wonder if you can get in through the international gateway.

NO. I am glad you asked. There have been a few runners over the years think they will avoid the bus and just walk to the front of the park through the I-Gate. One of the saddest things I have heard in the my years at Disney was a runner who slept in to avoid the busses and found out too late the I-Gate was closed. A spouse of a runner found her balled up in the gate area well after the start.

Your best bet is to stay at an official resort or drive to the start.

The list of resorts is:

Disney's All-Star Sports Resort
Disney's All-Star Music Resort
Disney's All-Star Movies Resort
Disney's Port Orleans Riverside Resort
Disney's Port Orleans French Quarter Resort
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge
Disney's Polynesian Resort

Thank you. I thought that might be the case. I am just uncertain about staying at a host resort because I assume they will be extra crowded, but if I don't drive I guess that may just be what I will have to do.

I am staying at BWV and just plan to take a cab. It's only about $10. I've also heard of people on the boards sharing a cab and splitting the cost. Dh and I are DVC and the DVC resort this year is Animal Kingdom. We just stayed there last trip and wanted to stay BWV this year.

We are DVC members so we are going to stay at the Animal Kingdom -
