Hi, we are stating at AKL in November. The day we plan to visit MK I have booked an 8:05 breakfast at CP. Two different reservationists gave me conflicting advice on transportation. One said the bus would not be running early enough to make it in time. I've also read conflicting info on this.
We do have a car.
SO- first should we take our car or bus to MK if we may want to duck out midday for a rest back at AKL and if bus is better, would the bus be picking up that early? Thanks a million!

Well, first off, the busses for the early morning breakfasts at MK and the MK resorts start running at about 6:30AM. So, if you want to take the bus, be at the bus stop at 7:15-7:20.

There are pros and cons about taking your car to the parks but it seems that just about everyone agrees that you take the bus to MK. This is because you still need to take the boat or monorail from the parking lot to MK if you drvie. The bus drops you off right in front of MK.

Thanks for the advice. One reservationist told me the bus does not pick people up at AKL that early. Does anyone know if this is true?

There are buses that early, they run to the parks that have character breakfasts. Of course they do not run as frequently as the buses do when the parks are open. Just give yourself a little extra travel time.
We've used the early buses for the character breakfast and tours at both MK and AK. You will have no problems.

Apparently the transportation CM'S are not on the same page as the CM'S booking special events as I had the same problem with an early tour. They suggested that since I didnt have a car on site that I should take a taxi to the park. I asked a bus driver the day before and was assured that they would be running at least an hour before the park opened. Had I not asked, I would have spent who knows what for the trip. I made a suggestion to guest relations last january that the reservation people should be provided with correct transportation info but apparently they did not take the advice.

Never, never, never, never.....get the point?......listen to any Cast Member about Disney transportation unless the person is wearing purple pants. Tyler (aka Chip N Dale) always says this over on the transportation board. He was a Disney bus driver and now works at the Grand Floridian. His words are SOOOOOOOOOO true. For whatever reason, only the bus drivers know anything about Disney transportation.
I think it's safe to say that just about everyone on this board (including myself) have been given very bad information either on the phone or at the resort front desk. There are early buses every day to get people to their breakfasts and tours before park openings. Tyler said recently that they start running 45 minutes before the first scheduled breakfast for that day. Be at your resort bus stop around 45 minutes before your breakfast and you will be fine. As others have said, if you drive to the MK you must park at the TTC and boat or monorail over. Only Disney buses are allowed near the MK entrance.

Thank you all for your advice. Cruising around this board has been more helpful than any book! I know some questions will come up as our trip approaches, and I know y'all will have the answers!!
Thanks again from Nova scotia Canada, Grace

I heard that if you needed to get from AKL to MK before the buses start, you have to ride an elephant or a giraffe to get there. :rotfl2:
