I'll be visiting Discovery cove during the week of 07/18 and was wondering what my options are for transportation from RPH.

Thanks in advance!

Last I checked the Universal Loews hotels do not go to Discovery Cove. The shuttles go to SeaWorld. Now if you are satying at the renaissance it is instantaneous delivery. You walk downstairs at any time and they take you at any time. You call them up at anytime and they will go over to DC to pick you up at anytime. Very convenient

but I checked into your question about 2 months ago and the answer was "no shuttle to DC"

The RPR site states that it does run a shuttle to SW & DC. We are going in April. I will post and let you know how it works. I have read that a cab ride somewhere around $15.

I'd still stay at the Renaissance for the DC/SWF portion of the trip.

The Renaissance is located literally across the street from the SWF parking lot. You can walk back and forth from the hotel. After you visit DC, you'll want to visit SWF a few times, because you get 7 days for free. You end up with DC badges that hang around your neck from lanyards. So everyone at SWF knows you went to DC, and they ask you questions, like was it worth it. Of coarse, the answer is yes. And you'll want to go back to SWF to pet the dolphins, and watch the Shamu show.

Some people think that DC is just a few hours out of their trip. Nope. DC is an entire day, followed by visits to SWF.

Check out my report from a few years ago here.

I think you guys have talked me into switching from Marriott World Center to Renaissance. We're going to DC and Seaworld before we move to Universal, and I think it would be a lot more convenient.

Does anyone have any experience w/club level at Renaissance? Would you recommend -aaa rate is just a bit more for club.

Yes, do the club level, that's what we did.

It's on the 10th floor, and you get free breakfast in the morning, and free snacks in the evening. The club room has someone at the entrance to answer any questions you may have, then a couple people who take care of the food. In the evening, the snacks are great. It's different each night, little odourves like tiny spinach rolls that are heated in a tray with sterno under it.
You can pay extra for beer and wine. There is a giant TV set up with tables to set your food on and eat. The room over looks SWF.

The short walk to SWF, and then having the snacks in the club room is worth it.

I changed our ressies today! It just seems like the best place to stay for a Seaworld/Discovery Cove trip. Thanks for all the info!
