I am staying at POR for a week in June. I hear the busses may be a bit slow. Any opinions on this? Also, does anyone know what time the bus to Port Canaveral will pick us up on our last day to head off to our cruise? I am not new to WDW, but we've always stayed at Shades of Green before and it is also our first cruise.

Any info is appreciated......

We have stayed there twice and found the buses to be pretty good transportation. Never waited too long for one from the resort. POFQ is picked up first, so the buses make the trip around POR and then off to the park. We could drive faster to EPCOT, but the bus to the MK was much better because they drop you off in front of the MK area. When you drive, you have to park at the Transportation and Ticket Center--take a monorail or boat--and then get into the park. Bus to MGM was good too. Parking for MGM seems to be a nightmare. Bus drop off is right up front. Never had any complaints about the buses. We only waited a long time for one coming back from an EMH night at the MK. Once on the bus, we were quickly transported to the resort. Really busy nights like that have seperate buses for FQ and Riverside, so that makes the return trip faster.

We went in June 04. The busses seemed to run fairly quickly and regularly. The only long wait was for the bus at Downtown Disney. Most of the time POR had their own busses running in the morning while we were there.

Enjoy your trip!! We loved POR!

Hi there,

I stayed at POR last week and I can say that the bus transport is some of the best at WDW. We have stayed at 9 of the resorts in the last few years and by FAR!!!! POR does well for buses.

This is good to hear. I was worried about sharing buses with POFQ.

There is a desk in the lobby for the Cruise line. There is a little sign saying when the pickup time is. Each resort seems to have a different time. I guess because each of the busses service a group of resorts.

I don't know specifically for POR, but the times at the resorts I have noticed seem to fall somewhere between 11AM and 12.

just got back today and after 11 trips , the buses were better then ever. the longest wait anywhere I had for a bus to arrive was 15 minutes(once) all the rest ere under 5 minutes

The buses are wonderful.

Bus ride times according to PassPorter.com

All Star Buses-CBR buses---POPbuses--PO buses--- Contemporary
MK 20 min---- 20 min-----25 min------10 min---20 min(mono)
Epcot 10 min-- 15 min-----20 min------10 min---15 min
MGM 10 min----12 min-----15 min------15 min---20min
AK 10 min------20min-------15 min----15 min---20 min
DTD 15 min----20 min------20 min-----15 min---35 min

We have stayed at PO-Riverside several times. Here is a transportation trick- (given to us by a CM). If you are at MK. The fastest way back to POR is to hop on the monorail and take that to Epcot. Then hop on the bus back to POR. The bus trip is about only 5 minutes from Epcot and usually less crowded

Enjoy!

I can't imagine this being faster. The guest would have to wait for the monorail at the MK and ride it to the TTC. Then, wait on the monorail to EPCOT and ride it to EPCOT. Then, wait on the bus and EPCOT and ride it to POR. It must take less time to wait on the bus at the MK and ride it to POR. :confused3
