I'll have more info. when I post my "official" trip report for Disney cruise #30, but here are some quick comments on the transportation part of our trip.
ATA: As usual, we flew ATA out of Midway (Chicago). We used to alternate between ATA, United, and American, but lately no one is coming close to ATA's Orlando fares. We like them because they have nice new 737-800 and 757-300 planes, and you get an advance seat assignment. Also, Midway is nice and convenient for us. Since we just do a three-day cruise, it costs less to park in the garage than it would to take a limo. If you park by the south elevators, you will be right by ATA's check-in.
Although they have electronic check-in at both MDW and MCO, we check in with an agent to see if there are exit rows available (some exit rows are much better than others, so we like that "human guidance"). We didn't get one on the way out, even though we were two hours early, but we got one on the way home. Both times it was a 737-800 plane. We book online and choose our own seats, so going out we at least had window and aisle (the plabe was full, so some poor soul was stuck between us).
We were on time going out, but over an hour late heading home due to fog delays. In all our flights with ATA, we're only had one other weather delay and one for a minor mechanical problem. The worst part of flying them is that luggage takes FOREVER to arrive at Midway, but I can live with that for cheap fares.
Happy Limo: We used Happy for our transportation to and from the Disney Wonder. They picked us up at the Marriott and we did a grocery stop on the way out. I was a bit paranoid about the ride home, as we had an 11 a.m. flight which is definitely pushing it, since disembarkation has been running late on our last couple of cruises. But Happy Limo has always been on time for us in all the many times we've used them, so I figured we'd be okay. I booked the towncar for 8 a.m. We managed to get off about 15 mins. early and our driver was there already, so we got to MCO with time to spare!
Overall, it was a good experience transportation-wise. Hopefully things will be as smooth on our April cruise, when we are once again flying ATA and riding with Happy.
