Transportation Questions

I wondered if we stay on-site the night before our cruise departs, is transportation to the cruise included? How does that work? I am trying to plan a family trip and trying to find the easiest way to transport everyone to and from the airport. I figured if we stayed on-site everyone could come via Magical Express and then if there is transportation to the cruise port that would be ideal and wouldn't require renting a car for 8. Plus, our family will be coming from 5 different airports on different flights!

First of all, you are VERY wise to have everyone fly down the day before the cruise

Secondly, I do believe that you can add Disney Transportation to your cruise, for a per-person fee. I know they have DCL pick-up locations from the various resorts, on the day of the cruise. I don't think the fee is included, unless you book a Land/Sea cruise package. Even without the package, you can still add on the transportation.

We flew down the day before but chose to stay at a hotel near the port, so I don't know the exact details of using Disney transportation.

Give your Travel Agent or DCL a call, I'm sure they can give you more specific details, and prices. Hope this helps

DCL transportation is included only if you do a land/sea package or purchase air thru DCL. However, it can be added to any package for $25 per "leg." A leg is one bus ride.

With a family of 8, it would be far cheaper for you to use a private limo service. The other advantage of the limo service is that it would leave at any time you choose (rather than the DCL bus which leaves each of the covered resorts at a specified time.) You should be aware that all resorts are not covered by DCL bus transport, but if your resort isn't one with service, the bellman will get you to the nearest hotel with the transport service. If you want to add this, you should do it in advance.

Thanks! Those are all helpful to me in making plans. I did read on a different board that even from the airport after 3 people it is cheaper to have a limo than a shuttle - great info!
