Hi all!

We're staying at AKL this time around, but I really want to head over to the Poly one morning to have some tonga toast! I haven't stopped dreaming about it since our last trip. :lovestruc We will have our car, but we don't need an ADR to eat tonga toast at Captain Cook's so I don't know if we can park at the resort in the morning to eat or not. Does anyone know? I can't think of any other way to get over there first thing in the morning...cab, maybe? :confused3

you should be able to drive over - just tell the guards you are eating or shopping at the Polyn - unless something special is going on they will let you inside.

for captain cook it is the quick service so you don't need a adr

for Kona Cafe (near the monrail) you will need a reservation - more expensive - but also better.

you can ride the bus to mk and walk over to the poly,or take the monarail over to poly, thats what we do.

You can ride the bus to the MK and transfer to the monorail or boat to get to the Poly, but you can NOT walk from the MK to the Poly. The only resort you can walk to from the MK is the CR.

You're allowed to go in and eat at Captain Cook's. You're staying at a WDW resort so you'll have a parking pass.

Honestly, the bus to MK then monorail to Poly would take forever if all you're doing is going to breakfast. If you're planning to spend the day at MK after breakfast, then take the bus.

We have found that we prefer to drive even to MK. Park, hop a tram then a ferry or monorail. Always get a seat, no crowding and waiting at the resort or the park to get back home, and the walk from the ferry is shorter to the front gate than the walk from the bus stops. Personal preference of course. We like driving everywhere.

We also found that we preferred driving. I'm wondering if I am allowed with my parking pass to park at the TTC and ride the walk over to the Poly. We could then do MK for the day, ride the monorail back, catch Wishes on the Poly beach, and jump on the monorail to the TTC to get our car. Does that sound perfect or what? is that Disney OK? I don't want to break or bend rules. I just really, really want that Tonga Toast!

As previously mentioned, this is incorrect: you can't walk from the MK to the Poly. HOWEVER, if you will be in the MK that day, you can park in the MK parking lot by the TTC, take the tram to the TTC and THEN walk to the Poly. It's a short walk. Then after breakfast take the monorail or boat to the MK.

If you drive to the Poly for breakfast and then go to the MK you would either have to pay for valet parking or move the car over to the TTC parking lot after breakfast.

I think it's a whole lot easier to just take the bus to the MK then boat or monorail to the Poly.

If it were me, and I had a car, I'd drive from AKL directly to the Poly. There shouldn't be a problem to park in the Poly parking lot while you are dining at Captain Cooks.

When you are finished dining and/or looking around the Poly, you would then need to leave their parking lot, and drive to the MK parking lot (if you are going to the MK afterwards).

Or as someone else mentioned, drive to the MK parking area, take the tram to the TTC, and then walk over to the Poly.

you can always do this - when you staying at a Disney resorts - you will not pay for parking - just show your parking permit to the guards.

that say you are told where to park your car - then you would need to ride the tram to TTC - then you can walk over to the Polyn or ride the resort monorail (remember there are 3 monorails - you only want the resort monrail it is further away than the express (mk) or epcot monorails

or you can drive over to the Polyn - they always welcome shoppers and guest to eat in their restuarant.

you are not breaking any rules with any of these choices.

thanks for the advice! I think we will go ahead and drive to the Poly to eat and then move the car to the TTC to ride the monorail to MK. I am pretty sure you can't leave your car in another resort's parking area for the whole day, correct? Thanks, everyone!
