I’m staying at BLT at the beginning of my trip enabling me to attend the extended evening hours. However I am checking out on a Wednesday and moving hotels. Do the buses go to non-deluxe hotels after the event is over or do they only go to the deluxe hotels?

Buses for extended evening hours are for Disney deluxe guests only. Disney buses never transport guests to non-Disney resorts.
Thanks. I would move to a non-deluxe Disney hotel.

I’m currently booked at WL but was considering moving to POFQ but if I won’t have a way to get to POFQ after the extra hours I guess I’m staying put.

Yes, but there are 4 non-Disney hotels they provide transportation for as per their own page.
  • Walt Disney World Swan Hotel
  • Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel
  • Walt Disney World Swan Reserve
  • Shades of Green® on Walt Disney World

Nothing wrong with staying put at WL. Copper Creek/Wilderness Lodge is one of our DVC home resorts. Although, POFQ is my fav moderate resort. Can you do it the other way around?

You missed in my OP that I am staying at BLT at the beginning of my vacation.

BLT - Mon-Wed
WL - Wed-Sat (was thinking of changing to POFQ but not if there is no bus service.)

If the evening hours are important, stay at WL. While I also love POFQ you won't get the benefit. This is one of the infuriating things that Disney did - give the benefit to only Deluxe resorts instead of ALL onsite resort guests. I also love SwanDolphin, but they got the benfit - go figure.

I will get the benefit tho…I just don’t get transportation it seems.

@wvjules I can't be 100% sure but if you are not staying at a Disney Deluxe then you may be turned way, regardless of transportation.

I doubt there will be a bus to any non-qualifying resort after the EEH. I would plan on using rideshare to POFQ. Uber/ Lyft really won't cost that much (certainly less than adding a night at CR or staying put at CR) and getting one won't be a problem at that time.

I was wondering the same for my trip. I always read here that Disney will never leave you stranded, but I probably won’t take the chance. I would think if you could find someone manning the bus area and ask they’d dispatch a bus for you or maybe have a driver make a stop for you. But like I said, I don’t think I’ll attempt this. I’m either going to drive (nice that we’ll have our car), or just stay another night at a deluxe.

Minnie Vans pick up from the bus area and will take you to POFQ, but they will be $$. We took one after MK AH around midnight in Jan. because we happened on one as we were heading to the bus, and I think it cost us $40 + tip back to Coronado. You can also walk to CR (or monorail if it’s still running) and get a much cheaper Uber/Lyft.

She would checking out of BLT & into PO on Wednesday. She would still qualify for deluxe extra hours because she is eligible for benefits of BLT until midnight Wednesday. Other posters have reported doing the same thing.

There are buses to all the resorts on the late nights. Depending on the park the load zones change so be sure to look for the audience control cast members and double check for your load zone.

No, they most likely won't drive you back in this case. That's what taxis and rideshares are for. If I were in the OP's position, I'd transfer to the moderate. Using a rideshare is going to be much less than an additional night at a deluxe. If it's hard to get a rideshare at the MK, take a bus to the closest deluxe resort to the moderate and then call a rideshare from there.

Could you possibly take a bus to say SSR and then walk over to Disney Springs and catch transport to POFQ?

Disney Springs generally closes around 11pm, and busses run for one hour after closing, so you’d need to make sure you were at the DS bus stop around 11:45-11:50 to be safe. We got out of a movie on a weeknight last May around 11:30 and waited twenty minutes and no bus. Finally a police officer came by and suggested that if we could swing it, we should head to the ride share area and take an Uber. My kid wanted to drive to DS, and I said we’d be fine; no problem. I didn’t hear the end of that for a week.
