Hi,

I'm a first timer. We arrive on August 8th. We are staying for a week, and staying off-site at Caribe Royale. We got really good rates, so we couldn't pass it up. Anyhoo.... The hotel has a shuttle to Disney of course. What about park hopping? Be patient with me, I don't really have a mental picture of the whole Disney property. But once you are on the property at say, MK, and want to go to Epcot, or AK, are there shuttles all over the place? What kind of costs are involved in that? I know we have breakfast reservations at the Contemporary and then are planning to do MK, so can you just hop on "something" to get around?

If it costs every time we park hop, maybe park hopping isn't what we should do...

Thanks for being patient with my cluelessness...lol... :confused3 :surfweb:

The monorail goes right through CR to MK - that's an easy one. Also, busses run all of the time from parks and resorts - just have to make sure you get on the right ones - it can be confusing at times!

All On-sight Disney trans. is for use for those staying on-sight or that have a valid Hopper pass as you do if your hopping.

Even though we always stay on site now, we always rent a car. We started doing that a few years ago after a having some really bad waits for buses & now I wouldn't do it any other way. Given that you'll be there during the summer months, keep in mind that all of Disney's transporation can get VERY crowded during peak seasons & you might have long waits, even for the monorails, water shuttle & your own hotel shuttle. Especially since you are staying off site, you'll be able to come & go much quicker, and park-hopping is so much more pleasant with your own car. Transportation at night (ie to/from Downtown Disney) can be really tricky, even if you are staying on site. If you decide to go this route, be sure to pick a company that has it's cars right in the parking garage at the terminal at the airport. I think Dollar & National are both that way. By doing this, you save yourself the extra time it takes to ride a shuttle with all your luggage out to an off-airport renatl place.

Good luck & let me know if you ahve any other questions.
