What is the best way to get from MCO to Contemporary Resort then to Cape Canaveral and back to MCO? There will be 7 of us with appropriate luggage and 2 car seats/strollers. We normally rent a car but not for 7. Have never used Uber - don't know if they can even accommodate all of us. Any costs for any of the segments would be appreciated. Thanks!

ETA: Not interested in the Magical Express or any Disney transportation.

From MCO to a Disney Resort, Magical Express is free.

For resort-port-airport, rent a towncar. It will be cheaper than nearly any other option. Uber doesn't do well with large groups.

We use Happy Limo

Same... more expensive than rental car, yes, but the peace of mind they provide is priceless
No standing in line to get your rental, no dealing with crowds, incompetent clerks, no getting to the rental office etc
Basically a chauffeured private shuttle that picks you up and drops you off wherever you are, whenever you need them.

Yep, and because of the size of our family, it's cheaper than using Disney transportation. Driver communicates well via text. We've never had a problem and will always use them. I hope they come out of this shutdown OK with all the tourism and trips to ports not happening.

We used Happy Hour Shuttle from MCO to Port Canaveral for our cruise wedding a few years ago. I believe there were 9 of us at the time. They were easy to deal with and professional. Would use again.

In the "before times" shoreside concierge (same folks who did Minnie Vans) could arrange a private van for 7 guests from a disney resort to port for the price of $199. Now that Minnie Vans are suspended indefinitely, I don't know if the vans would still be offered, but I mention it just because I know we were willing to pay a bit extra for the peace of mind of knowing that we were using Disney Cruise Line-arranged transportation--so we wouldn't be left behind in the event of a car breaking down or major traffic or similar.

ETA: It occurred to me another advantage is that it was all billed as part of our DCL reservation, which made it convenient when DCL cancelled our May 2020 cruise since we just got the refund/credit along with the rest of our cruise costs didn't have a third-party booking to cancel.

Thanks, that's good info. I'll definitely check with shoreside concierge when it gets closer to our cruise.

We have used http://www.worldgatelimo.com/ many times and were happy with their service. I know they can also arrange transportation that is different than just to the airport/resort/port. Our driver told us he picked people up at MCO and drove them to Tampa for the NCAA National Championship game and then back to the airport to fly home! Pre COVID it was $75 for a Suburban between the airport and Disney resort.

If it's a 3 or 4 night cruise, you might go ahead and run the numbers on renting a vehicle for the entire trip (or at least from checking out at the Contemporary) and checking the car back in at MCO. Yes, you'll have to pay to park at the Port (which could cost you $10-$20 per day), but if it qualifies you for a weekly rate, there's a chance it's cheaper than two one-way rentals. And other than riding a shuttle from the Contemporary to your rental car company, you might find it faster. (Plus, you can leave those car seats in the rental instead of hauling them on the boat.)

We do like goport, but normally from hotels near the airport. Last two trips I walked from Disney Springs over to the Hilton and picked up an Avis rental van. My corporate discount is very good, so excluding tolls it runs less than $100 for the one day rental. In general, rental car companies (did) have no dropoff charges within the state of Florida. I used rental points for the car seat we needed. I do the same thing at home - two rentals is actually cheaper than parking at the airport for more than 5 days.

We have always used Tiffany Towncar and had great service. I don't think you can go wrong with them or Happy Limo. I have consistently seen good reviews on both.

Did a quick trip to the parks last weekend for 4 nights and used Uber from airport to resort and back. Worked well but there were only 3 of us with very little luggage. For a cruise I will use a towncar service for sure.
